I was digging through some stuff and stumbled on this. To think it’s been 15 years. Crazy what you used to be able to get a free CD of back in the day.
Just a little rant. When I first visited Lemmy Sites a couple of months ago it felt empty. Besides the really mainstream community pretty much everything else just felt empty....
I’m still not quite sure what you think the Steam Deck runs on if it isn’t Linux. I can connect a monitor, keyboard, and mouse to it and use it as a computer. A computer that runs Linux.
Back in the day - rooting Android phones and installing custom ROMs were such a big part of Android. I remember so well using titanium backup and Greenify and Cyanogenmod and the list goes on....
Open. I live alone and I have a cat that comes and goes throughout the night. Having the door opened allows me to hear anything that should not be going on in the house.
I’m right there with you. The reddit thing has pushed me over the tipping point. I wiped Windows from my gaming PC and installed Linux Mint. I also am testing out /e/os on my phone.
Android is struggling to keep its market share in the United States, as Apple continues to take over in the market. But, despite Android as a whole losing ground, Google Pixel phones are becoming a bigger slice of the US market....
Google makes it very easy to flash Pixels back to stock through Chrome browser. Recently I was trying to flash /e/os to my Pixel 4a 5G. I bricked it 6 times and still can’t get it to install but I was able to flash back to stock easily. I recommend Graphene OS on the Pixel of you want to start taking back your life and start removing Google from it.
I tried out FlorisBoard earlier this year and was having the same issues. I am currently using this and it works more or less like gboard but without the G.
I would assume because it was a one off type thing. People liked open board buy wanted swipe typing so it was forked and it was added. The apk is available on github.
I was on the edge buying the thing and told myself that if I use it 50 hours it’s a reasonable purchase. Now I’m sporting closer to 200h within one year I could not be happier....
When I get the itch to play a game I’ll play the Deck an hour or 2 I’ve the course of a few days until I beat the game or I’m distracted. If I’m not doing that the deck can sit dormant for months at a time. I’m not a huge gamer but I am a tech enthusiast. I think it’s worth it but I can’t get into a lot of games. I have trouble finding games that get me hooked. I’d like to play Jedi Survivor at some point but not at the current price.

They’ve lost their appeal to me. I think the last Marvel movie I saw was The Eternals which I actually liked but I haven’t seen the new ant man or guardians movie. I also like the She-Hulk show. For some reason I feel like I relate to Jennifer Walters more than I should.
