Ford is working on a $25,000 compact EV (www.fastcompany.com)

Small EVs are a big market abroad—a stark contrast to the gigantic offerings like the Ford F-150 Lightning and the plethora of electric SUVs that are prevalent in the U.S. But the small EV market here is growing, and Ford is getting in on the action. The automaker is pivoting to smaller—and cheaper—electric vehicles....

Delphia,

If they are priced the same they sell better, its that simple.

Older people, fat peopleand tall people dont want to have to sit “down” into a car, they want to back up into the seat and have it be at arse height. People with kids and back problems dont want to have to bend themselves in half to get something out of the boot or off the back seat.

The only people who want low cars are young people who cant afford to move out of their parents house, let alone a brand new car or old sports car enthusiasts who want sports cars.

Delphia,

We’re all guilty of it too. Im currently in love with the JDM Alto works, it ticks every current box I need in a daily and a BUNCH of things I want, its reasonably priced and blah blah blah.

Theoretical me would buy one tomorrow if my car chucked a rod through the block or got written off but my 08 Volvo wagon just keeps running and my money is finite.

Delphia,

Because when the constitution was written there were 4 million “Americans” there are now 331 million.

When the constitution was written, it took 30 seconds to reload a single shot musket that had a maximum effective range of 100 yards. An AR15 can dump a 30 round magazine as fast as you can pull the trigger, be reloaded in 3 seconds, can hit targets out as far as someone can realistically see.

The problem with the rights is that they no longer function as intended. When they were written 20 civilian men with muskets was not significantly less dangerous than 20 soldiers with muskets, the idea that the people could stand up to a tyranical government was sound. Its not anymore. I dont care how well organised your anti-govt militia is the ATF or FBI could fuck you up without much trouble if you wanted to try them.

I say this as someone who thinks going shooting is enormously fun, I love the engineering, science and talent involved in it as a pursuit. But those “rights” mean mass shootings of innocent people dont even make the mainstream news half the time.

Delphia,

My last few cars gave been a swap between European and Japanese cars so the stalks keep swapping. My current car is a euro but my wifes car and the work cars are Japanese…

I put the wipers on to indicate so damn often.
