#TIL about a really high quality and expensive #vegetarian meal in #Japan called Shojin Ryori. It's a vegetarian cuisine that's prepared at Buddhist temples and is mostly found in Kyoto. You will need to reserve ahead of time for these. #Vegan #Japanese

This is the common reply I've been getting for years. I mean, Elon is sending men to Mars, we have these OpenAI based robots coming and NO ONE has figured out how to migrate Windows to Linux? I joke, but hope you get the idea.

@Darohan @harshad Those tasks that seem normal to you who are 'techie' and using Linux for years are a HUGE thing for a majority of normies.

so just buy a backup drive

As commented elsewhere, I'll stick to Windows 10 until I'm forced to. Maybe when I (do) have the $$ to buy a new 3TB drive, will dive into it. Thanks for the replies, nonetheless.

@lemba That's not the point. Unless there's a way for Windows users to easily migrate to Linux with a Click > Click > Click, mass adoption would be hard to come by (a long way).

Think of the first feature that users in the Fediverse were looking for - easy way to migrate accounts. Bad example but hope you get the idea.

@harshad I was just coming from the point of a simple migration, good sir! Click > Click > Select options > another Click > Finish > I've migrated to Linux! (like a Windows upgrade) 😁

@harshad I've used (rather played) with RH and Ubuntu before so I understand the privacy part and things that can go wrong when installing those. Was just piggybacking on the discussion and that I should consider using it since it doesn't look like I need to look up (search) for every missing driver of a Windows alternative to a software (or app). I'm also not taking it that I'm being forced.
