Dick,

Yes I’m referring to this on self posts. Basically posts that don’t have a photo or any media: imgur.com/a/OxTOsGV

Dick,

Yeah if you’re still signed in and haven’t been plagued with a reason to sign out, it’s an amazing app.

But signing into the app is pretty much impossible at this point or should definitely not require so much effort just to simply log into my account. This was an issue on the beta and people reported it. A workaround I did was installing an older build but since the beta is nonexistent now, I’m just stuck with this annoying bug.

Really sad because yes out of all the Lemmy apps, it was the only one that had the “hide bars on scroll” feature Apollo had. It’s crazy to me that people can browse with the nav bars constantly on display. I find them so distracting and useless when I’m actually scrolling through content.

Dick,

Omg wow! Thank you. Had no idea about this app until today. Now I’m wondering why it isn’t more popular but yes thank you for the suggestion

Dick,

Yeah I can’t even log in the app anymore after deleting it. It keeps telling me that the my username or password is wrong which I know it’s not since I’m able to log in on the browser and in other Lemmy clients.

Elon lied about the monkeys — and he shouldn't be trusted to put his Neuralink chips in human brains.

"They are claiming they are going to put a safe device on the market, and that's why you should invest," Ryan Merkley at the Physicians Committee, told Wired. "And we see his lie as a way to whitewash what happened in these exploratory studies."

Really heartbreaking reading what happened to the monkeys.

People quite rightly think of Elizabeth Holmes as a fraud for making false medical claims about what the Theranos machines could do. So why aren't Elon's claims at Neuralink being held to the same level of scrutiny?

Dick,

God is coming

Dick,

Hmm I’m using this feature right now on iOS 17.

When you play something on your Apple TV, open control center on your phone, press the AirPlay icon in the now playing section, select control other speakers & tvs at the bottom, and find/select your Apple TV that is playing content.

Now it should show the now playing widget on the Lock Screen and in the dynamic island.

I like Voyager a lot. It’s definitely the most Apollo esque. Other than the lack of hide bars on scroll feature. The bars at the bottom and the top can be distracting and I find content looks better when they disappear as you scroll.

So far I’ve only found Avelon to have this feature.

Dick,

Avelon is phenomenal. Especially the hide bars on scroll feature. No other app has this. I wonder if it’s hard to develop? I remember the developer of Apollo had quite a few bugs with it in the beginning.

Dick,

Thanks for the recommendation! Unfortunately I’m on iOS and Sync isn’t available :(

Dick,

It’s not the same situation though. Pixel watches are unrepairable even by Google.

Dick,

Yes, try Avelon OP! It’s really good. The UI is so smooth. Scrolling. And it has the ability to hide bars on scroll. It seems I’m the only one who cares about this feature haha but to me it makes content look much better without the navigation bars constantly being on display.

Dick,

Why do companies(states) insist on releasing their obviously inferior takes on things that are already on our phones and work well.

This will probably go the way of Apple Pay. Many companies insisting on using their version of mobile pay until they eventually cave because they finally realized how shit it is

I just looked up the California wallet app for this and it has such low ratings.

Dick,

Oh yeah. I’m loving it. I feel like my comments and posts get a lot more attention and the engagement is a lot better than Reddit. It definitely feels like a community is brewing but I’m loving the increased interaction.

Dick,

I wouldn’t say they’re hypocritical. I was in complete shock that they actually scrapped their iPhone scanning plans and now offer E2E for most of iCloud. They aren’t perfect but they definitely are better than most companies

Dick,

It’s on Apple’s website. Here’s the link: https://www.apple.com/child-safety/pdf/CSAM_Detection_Technical_Summary.pdf

Dick,

I’m getting so many crashes when I get phone calls.

Dick,

Wow they’re really doubling down. Guess this means the end of Reddit.
