Let’s recap for the people who still fall for this BS. A Russian diplomat claims that during some negotiations back in the 1980s, he was given a verbal promise that NATO would never move east. Everyone he claims was part of this negotiation claims it never happened, no evidence that it ever happened has ever come out, and, more importantly, it was never codified in any treaty. Although Russia has regularly used it to justify their aggression since then.
At one point, Ukraine started moving towards joining NATO, which pissed Putin off because he believes Ukraine to be part of Russia still. Ukraine elected a leader who claimed that he would remain neutral, but then decided to shift and get more cozy with Russia. They also decided to, because it was angering Russia and they didn’t want to end up in a war with them, shelve the idea of joining NATO. However, most Ukrainians wanted closer ties with Europe, so there was a revolution who ousted him. In response to this, Russia, who was unhappy with this, invaded and annexed part of Ukraine. All the good it did them not joining NATO!
Falling for the dumb “appeasement” strategy again, they let Russia keep the stolen land. Then Russia, started funding (violating an actual written treaty) separatists in the east of the country, helping it get ripped apart by a civil war. So then Ukraine started talking about joining NATO again because, he, Putin just proved that not joining NATO wasn’t going to stop his aggression in the country. And then Putin claimed “hey! Remember that treaty we made up about not expanding NATO? Well, you’re violating it so we have no choice but to invade Ukraine.” And a bunch of rubes fell for this line and think it’s actually US and NATO that started this war, and not an imperialistic and aggressive Putin who started the war by invading a neighbor and illegally grabbing their land.

Case in point, you can still play all of these old games. If you are willing to pirate, you can get access to thousands of games, most you never even played before, for free. You never have to pay for another game as long as you live and a still be playing new games from this era of “better” games.
I’ve done this myself. Played for like a month, and then for bored. And basically noone does that. I have the Nintendo switch access to old nes games. My kids never touch it. No one can really say because there is no novelty.
You know why? Modern games are way better. This isn’t to say these isn’t some annoying shit that goes along with them. But the old days weren’t some magical time of gaming. It seems magical because it was new, especially to the people living during that time, and simply due to nostalgia.

So, basically, the tweet is false, as it strongly implies that he was a photojournalist, writer, and editor at Al Jazeera. Certainly you agree because you outright made the claim. The reality is that many of these jobs rely on tips. If they were to “pay them a living wage” then the cost of the service would just go up.
Don’t get me wrong, I want tipping to go away, and it’s gotten absurd where people are asking for tips now. But it’s absolutely stingy to not tip in these places where traditionally they would be tipped. If you don’t want to tip, don’t buy their services. It should be a recognized part of the cost: you just think it should be made official, some think it should be based on the quality of service they received.

No, you’ve got it wrong. By going and not tipping, “the man” is still making their money. It’s the server you’re putting pressure on to leave that job and find something better. Sure, at some point, this might rise up and screw “the man” but the reality is that it requires stomping on a bunch of workers for your own benefit. It’s currently part of our culture and an expectation. We all agree that it should go away, but as of now, regardless of whether the boss is being cheap, if you don’t tip you’re being cheap and only screwing the worker, as the boss still makes their money.
Going and not tipping is still letting them “get away with it” because they still make their money. The person who makes less is the worker who served you the food. The owner still gets their money. If you want to hit the boss in the pocket book, you don’t go to places that rely on tipping their workers. That’s how you put pressure on the owner.
If you count the tip as “part of the service” yes I agree that the price would stay the same. But the way I’m saying it is that there is the charge for service/goods, and then there is the tip. If we get rid of tipping, in favor of high wages, the service charge goes up.
Don’t forget that it’s the employer paying the shitty wage that is the one screwing over the worker.
