Fallenwout,

Meanwhile you, as a kid, enjoyed the good life because of it.

Fallenwout, (edited )

I am a millennial, snowflake.

Fallenwout,

I adjusted my reply. I’ll be here for global warming you respectless human being. Go back to reddit.

Fallenwout,

Wake up call you uninformed. You’re full of lead as well.

Can someone explain why one cannot read cursive? It is just a tilted (sometimes fancy) font, what’s so hard about it?

Edit: After being made aware by a fellow lemmy’er and googling it, it seems I confused cursive with italics, English is not my first language. Though I learned cursive at school when I was 6 without realizing it is called cursive in English. It was part of the basic curriculum at that time, didn’t know this wasn’t a thing in other countries.

Fallenwout,

[Serious]Can you read when you tilt a page 30° to the left? Or is it more about the font type than the font angle?

Fallenwout, (edited )

Your are correct, I looked up the difference.

Seems though I learned cursive at school when I was 6 without realizing it is called cursive in English (English is not my first language) . Didn’t know this wasn’t a thing in other countries.

I downvoted myself :D

Fallenwout,

It is not a triangle, it is a slash with a hook like /J but combined. You never lift your pen of the paper to write a word. Dots and dashes are added after the word is finished.

Passing on the right on a highway

Why is it illegal to pass someone on the right on the highway in the US? In Canada if there’s a three lane highway which, in my case, isn’t very prominent, there’s really no law that enforces it, it’s more of a respect thing here on two lane highways both ways if someone is going slow in the left lane to go into the...

Fallenwout,

That’s good reasoning from your dad.

Fallenwout,

No passing on the right law is combined with obligatory moving to the slower right if that lane matches your speed more.

This creates lanes with different speeds without the need for swerving between slower cars. And you can choose the lane(speed) you’re most comfortable with without being disturbed. This contributies to a more steady and safer flow of traffic.

Fallenwout,

Bedjet. I have constant nightmares which make me soaking in sweat. This thing keeps you and your sheets dry all night. Keeps me cool in the summer and warm in the winter. And the quality is something I have never seen before

Fallenwout,

Yes it is good, that’s why I put it in this topic. But only if you don’t bother a little breeze going over you. You can set the fan very low, you won’t feel it but it still works.

I occasionally have to change the temp. But that is user error, when you’re cold going to bed, you tend overcompensate to warm up and fall a sleep.

There are buttons with different built in timers. Max hot only runs for 10min at 45c. That’s a good thing.

They are expensive, but I would buy again.

You can also make temperature curves when it automatically changes temp over a set period of time.

Fallenwout,

Never tried. I have nightmares all my life, got used to it. When I was younger I was scared to fall a sleep, I tried to stay awake as long as I could. I am still sleep deprived though. Some weekends I sleep 15hrs straight.

Fallenwout,

Yes. I have used it. It is only necessary when not set to heating so you don’t get cold feet. Otherwise it will blow on your feet. I currently use it without the sheet.

Fallenwout,

I refuse to watch videos with a thumbnail showing an open mouth.

Fallenwout,

Just use a different launcher. No ads then. OEM launcher is a mess anyway.

Fallenwout,

asl goes way back to the nineties irc chatrooms. It was never a problem back then.

The vanishing of the small high-end smartphone (www.smh.com.au)

Manufacturers don’t make displays under 6 inches available for purchase, with special cases (such as the iPhone Mini) being made under exclusive contracts. The best lead they have so far is to try to use displays designed for the front part of a foldable phone, but they’re yet to strike an agreement....

Fallenwout,

75% of your battery cycle, the screen is off. So a smaller screen can only win battery in that 25% window. A bigger battery on the other hand can be applied to 100% of the cycle.

Unless you go oldschool lcd, a smaller screen does not gain as much as a bigger battery for battery cycle time.

Fallenwout,

If you can’t recognize this massive sarcastic comparison between war and profanity, you’re not ready for the internet.

Fallenwout,

The built-in “storm the front” and “go go go” voice buttons is all we needed.
