Hi, there!

💆

I was born in 1989, so I am an ancient grandpa and demand respect for my lawn. (/s ya right like I own a house)

(P.s. I am not a sexy hairy ripped daddy bear, but I do own a cat named Tammy 🐈‍⬛)

Just because something is successful once doesn’t mean it needs to be successful forever.

Not every game needs to be a franchise. All of these indie games were already successful. Nothing is being uplifted.

Man, I just never got it… I made myself play through this entire game and legitimately thought it was a 5/10. And i love adventure games/walking simulators, I’ve played hundreds.

Have you tried the combat update? One of the big reasons I was interested in the game was because it seemed relaxing and chill, but after learning about the added combat I feel a little turned off. Any thoughts?

Ya but like, who cares?

I don’t think celebrities and actual humans are quite the same. Celebrities have been putting on personas since the very first celebrities began. A celebrity is literally a public image, that’s what it is. This stretches to politicians as well. Hannah Montana was not an original idea, it was a commentary on the lives a lot of celebrities live. Tosh.0? A shy introvert.

The only thing you mentioned that was new is the invention of digital avatars. Everything else is business as usual. Who cares?

As for the people harassing people? Well they should stop. Online harassment isn’t cool, regardless of celebrity status.

Ok we’re talking about different parts of the original post.

Also I literally don’t care about this anymore. Enjoy hitting downvote and crying about YouTubers getting caught up in their own choices in pursuit of fame.

I always figured it was sort of like how everything had a lowercase “i” in front of the name after the iPods first came out

FunnyUsername,
@FunnyUsername@lemmy.world avatar

I am aware, but it wasn’t until the iPod where generic and third party brands starting hopping on the bandwagon. You saw “i” in front of things for a solid decade after the ipod came out, not so much in recent years though

This was a really cool read!!

What a bittersweet time to be alive, gaining all this important knowledge while surrounded by all the dumb that’s out there

Since when? It’s crazy how easily generations are pitted against each other.

How in the WORLD did visual novels get clumped with video games instead of audio books?!?

If I only knew when i was 5 years old listening to a cassette tape of Baby Beluga with a picture book from the public library that I i was actually starting my lifelong passion of shooting things in the face!

I don’t think comparing an audiobook to a text-based adventure game is fair. A text-based adventure game has actual gameplay it’s just presented as text. That is very different than what I’m talking about which is literally just a picture book that is read to you. I personally think they make much more sense on a platform like Audible. When i come home and want to game, it’s NEVER “should i have a picture book read to me, or replay Bayonetta?”

FunnyUsername,
@FunnyUsername@lemmy.world avatar

It’s cuz the episodes are so wildly varied in tone and topic. I’ve talked to multiple people who don’t like Bojack cuz they “don’t like silly cartoons like that,” like what??

Was there ever any more brought to light about that super duper awkward video of the arrest, where they were standing around holding drinks while it was occuring?

I’m not trying to fluff up conspiracies, just haven’t heard about that video since it happened

FunnyUsername,
@FunnyUsername@lemmy.world avatar

That was a super awkward arrest video, gay sex or not.

I really hope you don’t mean this guy

I’m not right wing. I just watched the video months ago and it was super awkward. Seemed less like a home invasion and more like surprised old men coming out of Alzheimer’s delusions.

FunnyUsername,
@FunnyUsername@lemmy.world avatar

Ya that one. In the video i remember watching, the two were standing around awkwardly with drink in hand when the cops showed up. Then one awkwardly swung a hammer before a little tussle with the cops and then the arrest. I was just asking if any more context came to light, but ended up getting down voted by people who can somehow watch that video and say “yup totally normal” without being any more curious what happened before the door was opened and they started being filmed.

But i guess I can’t ask those questions simply because conservatives with bad takes exist?? Ya okaayyyyyyy

I never had a problem with giving up a game i wasn’t enjoying, but i can see it being nice for removing that commitment if you find yourself overstaying your welcome in a game you’re not really enjoying just to get your moneys worth.

It’s not that I want gamepass to go away or think it’s bad. But i can’t help but notice the second a game releases to gamepass I’m less interested in it. Commodifying games has done what was intended, i suppose…made them a commodity rather than something special.

I guess this also makes more sense in 2023, where AAA games are often not very good and often even broken on launch, or incomplete with day one dlcs. Not very tempting to drop 60$ on a product like that.

I think the conclusion I’m coming to, is game pass is a good solution for the annoying terrible state the game industry is currently in. But not for me personally. I’m too jaded to pay attention to new games, I stick with my classic titles and indies mostly.

I only just noticed this. I have no idea how it replied to the wrong thread. I’ve never even seen the meme here before…
