GenXer,

Karangaituku by Whiti Hereaka - a retelling of the Karangaituku story from her perspective.

GenXer,

I have the board game, but have never read the book. I loved Battle Royale.

GenXer,

Awesome. I am a relative newb to the hobby. 5 years or so?

GenXer,
  • Bible (NIV)
  • The Cloud Atlas
  • The Apostolic Fathers

I would also attempt to smuggle Sayonara Gangsters in as an extra.

GenXer,

I am clearly missing something, sorry. Why would this be in poor taste?

GenXer,

Sayonara Gangsters by Takahashi Genichiro - it is a weirdness fest of post modern Japanese literature. I love every chaotic page.

Looking for recommendations!

My wife and I are casual players, and I’m considering getting a new, 2-player game. Here’s some extra info that may help with your suggestions:

  • More than two people could play it at a time, but only if it’s well-balanced for two. Something you would enjoy playing with a significant other.

  • We own these games, and we like them a lot: Jaipur, Splendor + Expansion, 7 wonders duel + Expansions, and Lost Cities (Card Game ed).

  • Recommendation could be within the same mechanics as the games mentioned above; anything different would be a plus.

Thanks for being awesome, and I’m looking forward to see your suggestions!

GenXer,

@yaitorr If you're ok with Living Card Games (on-going need for more cards) and you're into Lovecraftian horror, the Arkham Horror Card Game works well with two players. As an LCG, it can become an everlasting money pit, though.

GenXer,

@yaitorr I think you have sunk more than enough into them. lol

GenXer,

I am a big fan of solo games. I am hoping to get Proving Grounds onto the play table.

GenXer,

I hear you.

GenXer,

I have always wanted to try this game. I was a huge fan of Western movies as a kid back in the '70's. This seems to bring back all those memories.

GenXer,

I recently found Literal Club (based in Germany and not Fediverse): I have moved there. I tried Bookwyrm but it just was not for me, sadly. I might give it a shot again later.
