Godnroc,

That’s the craziest thing I’ve heard today. Please explain?

Godnroc,

I’m not certain I want to know what this means. I kinda love the idea that this is just an idiom that is or was common. Is it modern? Ancient? Could be either, could be both!

Godnroc,

“…paired with next-gen AI experiences that will result in new Windows devices that are always aware of what you’re doing…”

That’s a GOOD thing?

Godnroc,

Have you tried just tossing it in whole? It gets soft, then you can fit it in.

Godnroc,

It does if you twirl your fork to collect the spaghetti. The longer stands form a ball of sauce and noodles with only a few stands. If the noodles are half as long, they may not stay twirled, can flop around more, and require more stands to reach the same size. More mess, more work.

Also, I would challenge you to tell which end of the pasta went in first. Actually, it would be a challenge to even find a way to test that…

Godnroc,

Networking is just getting to know a bunch of assholes. This picture is 100% accurate.

Godnroc,

Sharing your enjoyment with others. Work you can take pride in. Preserving history. Sounds pretty great for mental health.

Obscure screw added so appliance cannot be disassembled (lemmy.world)

Basic blender went bad (motor ran but spindle wasn’t rotating). I wanted to disassemble to see if it could be repaired. Three of the four screws were Phillips head. I had to cut the casing open in order to discover why I couldn’t unscrew the fourth. It was a slotted spanner.

Godnroc,

Just to add to your comment, the sell a smaller set for a few dollars less and also a “precision” screwdriver set that has some similar bits not but the full set. Both are very handy to keep around for this exact thing.

Godnroc,

The best part is you can quit any time you want.

Godnroc,
  1. Make a company
  2. Violate the law until all but one strike is used, making huge profits each time.
  3. Disband the company.
  4. Repeat.

Love the idea of holding companies accountable, but this would be the outcome of that solution. If you want it to stick, you need to target their pockets.

Godnroc,

Always a classic for your bartender friends. Unfortunately, they always know how to turn the volume down.

Godnroc,

Frustratingly, those are actually two separate plans.

Godnroc,

I wouldn’t trust them, might steal your face!

Godnroc,

I know that was meant as an exaggeration, but the idea of a foreign leader hiding under the table with one arm up and a sock marked up with a marker and googly eyes is fantastic.

Godnroc,

Joy / Trauma 2/1 = 2 1/2 = 0.5 The math checks out.

Godnroc,

Caves are outdoors because a bunker is indoors and the cave around it is outdoors.

Godnroc,

Frodo’s necklace isn’t invisible; therefore, we can assume that it does not work unless worn on a body part specifically, as he is wearing it while it is on the necklace but he is not invisible.

The real question is what body parts would work. Fingers obviously do, but would toes? Cockring? Nose piercing? Could you say that the ring being in his butt counts as wearing it? If someone can go outside wearing nothing but a buttplug, then there is some president.

Can only buttplugs be worn, or can anything be worn in the butt? Is a ring a buttplug? Cash or credit?

Godnroc,

Only if you’re doing it right. Witnesses are a problem.

Wait, did you say vacation?

Godnroc,

We work for an explicitly evil organization, but we’re terrible at it.

Godnroc,

I’m literally trying to get into Linux and one of the first things was installing software, which involves copying and running random bits of code from whatever website has the highest search result. I would say a lot of software is running code you have no idea what it does.

Godnroc,

In much the way I am aware of the Windows store: I avoid it and work to get the software directly from the source. I regularly run into the issue of software not being there or being of unknown version.

Perhaps that is some bias from Windows following me over.

Godnroc,

Is that enough for a 20ft radius? Maybe that is just a firebolt. I could certainly toss them out all day.

Doesn't the need for a permit fundamentally contradict the US's ideals of free speech?

I went to some palestine protests a while back, and was talking to my brother about the organizing, when revealed something I found pretty shocking, we (the protesters) had acquired a permit to hold the protest. Apparently this is standard policy across the US....

Godnroc,

Exactly! Peaceful protests are allowed and encouraged. Demonstrations, speeches, picket signs, marches, sit-ins, etc.

Riots on the other hand are a problem. Burning cars, breaking windows, stealing from unrelated businesses, hurting people, etc.
