I’ve just had this idea. Why don’t we create a bot that scans comments and replies to them with boardgamegeek links for every game found in the comment?...
I still don’t understand how I this services communicate each other. Ok, they use the same protocol, but practically how can I, on Lemmy, access content from PeerTube or Mastodon?
I joined Lemmy two weeks ago, yet, I still spend most of my "Social network time" on Reddit. And the reason is that Reddit has more things to see, more interesting posts to interact with and so on.
I think that we that are already here should "prepare the place" so that others may come. And preparing the place means exactly creating posts and commenting. As simple as that.
I see stories about how election is rigged or that there are security vulnerabilities and lots of people don't believe the outcome. Why don't they just open source everything so that anyone can look at the code and be sure the votes are tallied correctly?
Amazon has taken over Europe. After a 20-year-long expansion, supercharged during Covid-19, the US giant is now by far the dominant e-commerce company in Germany, the UK, France, Italy and Spain. In these countries, Amazon is the main port of call for online shoppers. That has made the company nearly unavoidable for independent...
Same. Now, it's more then a year that I don't buy on Amazon (technically less if I consider one purchase I made for my dad, but that wasn't my choice) and I also don't use Prime Video.
I'm also trying to avoid using Google products. For example in September/October I started using You.com as my only search engine before moving to Qwant. I've also started using Proton as email provider, but it's difficult to migrate all the accounts.

Yeah, in rural areas it makes sense to own a car because public transportation is often sparse or absent. In your case, you could use the car to get just to train station and then take the train.

As the other comments suggested, getting a driving licence even if right now you don't need it is a good choice for the future. You might decide or be forced to move somewhere where not having a licence, so not driving, might be impossible for day to day life.
Also, since you are a student you have probably more to time to prepare for the exams, so I'd suggest taking it soon.
I absolutely love Coup and it has been a struggle finding it. Some months ago I've been able to buy both the base and the expansion from some guy I found on bbg. While, recently I've also been able to buy Coup Rebellion! I think it makes Coup even better because it adds more variety (despite sacrificing setup semplicity tho).
