Iceblade02,

Nice, now we just need to increase non-fossil fuelled energy production another 900% in order fo get rid of fossil fuels!

Iceblade02, (edited )

Oh undoubtedly!

Hopefully my partitioning was decent though, so distro-hopping shouldn’t be too hard if I feel like switching (or even running different distros side-by-side?)

I was personally drawn to it because: it’s not Ubuntu; ButterFS seems like a nice safety net; KDE Plasma is sexy AF; noone seems to have anything particularly horrible to say about it.

Why is your chosen distro (obviously) the superior choice?

Iceblade02,

Thanks! Next step is getting equivalents for all the software I use and figuring out proton.

Most of them (thankfully) are foss, but I’ve a few without equivalents.

Iceblade02,

But b-tree file system sounds way less fun!

It’s already cemented itself as butterfly system in my mind lol

Iceblade02,

Mint was 2nd in line on the choice list, so not far off!

Iceblade02,

I’ll go have a look

Iceblade02,

It suggested 200GiBs for root, which seemed a bit excessive but I didn’t argue

Iceblade02,

Idk, everytime I go partying with friends it definitely seems like womens bathrooms are a communal activity.

Iceblade02,

I’ll bite - give me some examples of real-life male-only spaces that aren’t sports related.

Iceblade02,

I just remind myself that I’d rather be lonely than together with certain people.

Iceblade02,

Thing is outsiders are much more likely to stir things up than local students - at least in my experience. This applies to parties and other events as well, not just protests.

Iceblade02,

On the one hand, I sympathize - on the other, it’d be awesome to find someone who shares my interests.

Iceblade02,

Yep, and if I wanted a filtered feed I’d view subscribed.

Iceblade02,

I literally own a bit of stock in the most nuclear-power-related company in my country - so yes.

Iceblade02,

There’s way too little sci-fi w/o FTL

Iceblade02,

Yeah, I loved the expanse - until they upped the stakes by breaking physics. I can’t help but wonder if it was the author running out of ideas, because he’d been doing so well in the first parts.

Iceblade02,

So the house is in the Katamon neighborhood (West Jerusalem), which is within the internationally recognized borders of Israel, and has been since 1948.

Also, Hasan Karmi died at the ripe old age of 101, fifteen years ago.

In other words, this is not news and reads very much like an opinion piece designed to make people angry.

There are plenty of things to actually be aggravated about, so can we please not post irrelevant not-news ragebait to a community titled “World News”?

Iceblade02,

Andrew Tate has been charged under reasonable suspicion, as for the accuracy of those charges, it is up to the courts to decide.

You can read more about the ongoing legal process on wikipedia.

Iceblade02,

Whilst your post is not explicitly rule-breaking, this community is not an appropriate place to discuss and speculate on the validity of criminal charges. As such, this post will be locked.

Furthermore, when posting here in the future, keep in mind that the title of your post should contain the question being asked.

Iceblade02,

Where I live, there’s usually a union rep on the board if the company is sufficiently large - so it’s sort of getting to vote on who your boss is, in a roundabout way.

Iceblade02,

I could definitely see that hanging on a kitchen wall - suitably wholesome

Iceblade02,

Yeah, getting rid of malaria in large parts of the world was one of the great successes of the 1900’s, and a large reason for that was the drainage of wetlands. Part of the reason I personally cannot at all sympathize with folks who want to restore the wetlands. Particularly with the world heating up, it’s likely to result in a surge of mosquito-borne disease.

Iceblade02,

I fundamentally disagree. Our mastery over nature is what allows us to even care about such esoteric things. As a humanist, I consider climate change a problem because it poses a threat to humans, much like mosquitoes do.

Iceblade02,

Hi!

I’m the Swede with a CC, right here :)

Now you’ve heard of someone using one (mwahahaha)

In all fairness, it’s not exactly something people talk about - and for the record, I’ve never ended up paying any interest on the card. It’s just convenient, offering a layer of protection for charges, makes it easier for me to track spendings, and allows me to be earning interest on my paycheck by keeping it in a savings account until I need to balance the CC.
