This guy’s opinion is totally valid, but I would not want him at my table. My favorite part of TTRPGs is the collaborative storytelling. It is a lot of work for everyone, but that’s what makes it so rewarding. Your GM is putting a lot of effort in no matter what anyway, so it’s nice to get that back from the players as well

Nah, see, the way they see it, that Uber driver isn’t a human being

I’m glad the did make her Kai. I hate her, but she was great

If they’re not the ones to give us that data, who would? Polling experts in the field is different from asking fisherman if they think we should eat fish

Isn’t Australia still part of the Commonwealth?

Humanity’s strongest trait evolutionarily, except for maybe our intelligence, is our endurance and ability to shrug off injury. I think the mindset that caused, is the reason we’re so slow to address problems

You’re mostly right, but I do not trust this court to consider precedent, or even the law

Then teach the skills you learned to do it in a healthy way. That’s kind of how everything works with kids. They have to eat healthily, respect adults healthily, study healthily, etc. All of those things are bad if they aren’t taught how by the adults in their life

US company agrees to fine for hiring children to clean slaughterhouses (www.theguardian.com)

The US labor department announced on Monday that Fayette Janitorial Service LLC entered into a consent judgment, in which the company agrees to nearly $650,000 in civil penalties and the court-ordered mandate that it no longer employ minors. The February filing indicated federal investigators believed at least four children had...

The already had a coury-ordeted mandate. it’s called the law

Hey i just wanna know are raccoons evil in some kind of way ?

A lot of things i thought were cute and nice like dolphines, ducks, cats (i saw one cat eat anothers new born), dogs (multiple cases of eating dead owners due to a variety of reasons starting from trying to wake em up to other malicious reasons), hamsters etc turned out to be wrong . Raccoons are the only thing i believe in...

Animals can’t be evil. They’re amoral. They don’t philosophize, they don’t feel guilt; they don’t comprehend life in the same way that we do. Both cruelty and mercy are human constructs. All animals can do is try to guarantee survival for themselves and their offspring. They’ve all evolved into a specific niche, and these behaviors you deride are just instincts that have successfully ensured the survival of their ancestors, and so were passed on. If you can’t handle the idea that animals in general sometimes kill to survive, get a plant

They can do those things because they’ve been beneficial. Cats domesticated themselves because living with humans makes them safer. Their meows are cute, because that makes us want to protect them. They are absolutely capable of love, but they’re still animals

Infynis,
@Infynis@midwest.social avatar

You’re right in this, and your other comment, but if OP isn’t ready for “sometimes animals eat each other in nature,” I don’t think they’re ready for the complexities of what it means to be human, and the fact that we are also animals, but have some unique behaviors

The way they see it, their best interests don’t involve those of the game studio. Buying a studio does two things. It gives them a new business to latch onto and suck all the money out of quickly, and it eliminates competition in the gaming industry. Killing the studio still meets both of those goals. And then they just move onto the next one.

Thats not necessary. Just look at how much suffering O’Brien experienced, and he was only in a simulation, or a doppelganger, some of the time!

Is the joke that he’s blind, so he can’t tell his trumpet is on fire, but they won’t tell him because waiting rooms are super uncomfortable?

Is he the devil, and this is the trumpet version of the Devil went down to Georgia, but because trumpets already look like they’re made of gold, he had to make it special in a different way?

I never understand these

It’s intentionally predatory. It doesn’t make sense, because it’s a trap you’re seeing after it already sprung on someone. John Oliver did a great episode on it

It’s just the Star Fleet approach in pretty much every situation. They’re always the ones to make the accomodations
