Anyone else getting noticeably worse battery life with WatchOS 9.5 (including 9.5.1)? I’ve gone from like ~36 hours to under 24.

JohnBradshaw,

@gruber John, I thought I was the only one. My S7 has 100% battery health (recently replaced) on 9.5.1. Battery is definitely dropping a little faster than I'm used to.

Just bought a Surgace 9 Pro for my wife’s business (i5 16GB). have done a good job copying packaging, documentation and initial onboarding.

BUT

By default Windows 11 Home not Pro is installed so I can’t login with M365 or add the pro to her organisation.

Installing updates, for Windows and Office is painfully slow. Like hours.

Screen is good, keyboard is squishy, track pad is good.

SO

Not a patch on my MacBook Air M1. Just feels slow and sluggish in comparison.

JohnBradshaw,

@phils Sorry but it's Surface "Pro" and doesn't come with Windows 11 Pro. --Did I miss something?

JohnBradshaw,

@aelius @phils Galling scenario. Does the home edition come with bit locker at least?

JohnBradshaw,

@aelius @phils Ok, this piqued my curiosity. Running "Dev Encryption" vs. Bit Locker... does one have the capability to encrypt more than the standard boot drive? (e.g., boot drive + secondary drives, flash drives, backup drives, etc.)

It's always been my understanding that Bit Locker was the parity equivalent to File Vault on the Mac so "Device Encryption" is a curiosity to me.

Weird thing of late. 8/10 times it disconnects after about a minute, then reconnects. Rinse and repeat. The phone never stops charging so the power is uninterrupted.

Cleaned the charge port, and replaced the cable. No joy. INCREDIBLY annoying.

No idea why, since no major OS updates

JohnBradshaw,

@jwilker Cable?

I never tooted about this but Consumer Reports picked up on my video and made a more professional stink about my car's brake lights!
https://www.consumerreports.org/cars/car-safety/brake-lights-can-fail-to-provide-fair-warning-on-some-evs-a9533519285/

And now! Hyundai just announced they will do a "field service campaign" to fix the issue starting in July. Yay!

JohnBradshaw,

@TechConnectify May I ask...how did you come across this initially? --Did someone stop you or did you just notice it on another car?

JohnBradshaw,

@TechConnectify Well, I'm glad you found it--you put some good out in the world with this discovery, for sure.
