Every time we travel in quick spurts or over long distances, like this combination of 14 and 4 hour flights, I regret having an Apple Watch.

I keep threatening to switch to a conventional watch, but this version 5 keeps a charge most days and the urge goes away. Today it’s back. 😠 Having too many devices with batteries is bad.

We're in Taipei during the biggest Taiwan earthquake in over 25 years. It made us think, “Are we prepared for a natural disaster as full-time travelers?”

We just experienced a 4.2 earthquake in Taipei immediately after this alert hit our phones.

I’ve never felt a building shake like ours just did. In SF, the most I experienced was window blinds slightly moving. That was nuts!

And now we just felt an aftershock. It was smaller, but still lasted 10-15 seconds. The initial shake almost knocked me off my feet and I had to grab onto a doorframe.

What a wild morning.

It was a 7.4 quake and pretty damn close to us. 🫨

The aftershocks keep happening, but don’t feel nearly as intense as that initial 7.4 magnitude earthquake.

We had our first experience where someone recognized us from our YouTube channel… and talked to us in person.

Brian and his wife were watching our videos and then saw us walking around our apartment building. Today, we happened to be walking in at the same time, he said “Hi, you’re famous!” and then explained why. Such a nice guy!

And chatting to someone outside of YouTube comments was quite cool! 😎

    Upgraded to iOS 17.3.1. All my settings are gone. FFS. Weirdly, my wife can still see the shared home, but then she’s still on 17.2.1.

    Apple Vision Pro is amazing, but nothing beats how sharp my Retina display looks after taking the headset off.

    @danielpunkass Nice. I was wondering how that affects the clarity of the virtual screens in Vision Pro. There's no way I'm buying one of these, but having multiple apps shown in a virtual space while editing YouTube videos is appealing.

    My 16” MBP screen is lovely, but still limiting at times. And it's already on the heavy side for full-time travel.

    @pixel It starts when someone asks how long we’re in town, we usually say, “a month”.

    Or it starts with, “Where are you from?” And we say that we no longer live in SF.

    Which then leads to the “we have no home” response. And often that leads to deeper chats. 😄
