Kittybeer,

It sent me to someone’s obituary.

Kittybeer,

I decided to look up a little history: history-computer.com/web-1-0/

Kittybeer,

I went in for seconds and landed here: firedrake.org/roger/csarchive/…/states.htm This is sooo cool and I don’t even know what it is! Has anyone heard of Crimson Skies computer game??

Its premise seems to be that America failed. The link took me to the write-ups of what happened to the states. Example: “Montana and Wyoming have largely fragmented. All government is local, and the locals seem determined to keep it that way. The population is completely disgusted with national government and aims to show that local government can perform far better than any distant bureaucracy. Portions of Wyoming and Montana have been claimed by other states, but by and large this is the most lawless and best armed stretch of the West.”
Another: “The bulk of Nevada is desert, not even worth the effort of laying claim to. Most of the inhabitants southeast of the Sierra Nevadas are desert air pirates, scrub ranchers, and rattlesnakes.”

Not gonna lie…it got me at Air Pirates!

Kittybeer,

How am I surprisingly not surprised that I’m surprised I’m not surprised by this?

Kittybeer,

Thanx! I moved the lens backward very quickly while taking the shot to get the movement effect.

Kittybeer,

Ha! That’s funny. I almost said “pierced” but went with “punched” instead. I think that word was in my head after reading this: “A close inspection of the following photograph from the lower temple illustrates that the holes were ‘drilled’ and not just randomly punched as one might assume.” from a website I just read: www.ancient-wisdom.com/maltamnajdra.htm because I couldn’t remember which temple I took this picture at.

Kittybeer,

$500K+ house at 7% interest is $3,300/month payment (not including other fees) to give some perspective. It’s eye watering.

Home prices have ticked down in Denver, but make no mistake: Buying a house here still requires a lot of cash. Within the city limits, median sale prices are $578,000, which would require a minimum down payment of $17,340 (3 percent) for a conventional loan if you have excellent credit. And to avoid paying mortgage insurance you’ll need to come up with a 20 percent down payment, which adds up to more than $115,000. (source: www.bankrate.com/real-estate/…/denver-co/)

Average salary in Denver is $78K. (source: www.payscale.com/research/US/…/Salary)

Sucks that this is the new normal somehow…

Kittybeer,

Whelp, I never used those things anyway.

Kittybeer,

Ohh, glad to see this over here! I logged into Reddit the other day just to read this!

What's a band that you like that was gone way too soon? (www.youtube.com)

For example, a band like Joy Division. Two masterpiece albums in the form of Unknown Pleasures and Closer, and the untimely death of Ian Curtis cut it all short. They were even heading into the direction that New Order eventually went in, and it would have been interesting to see what Ian Curtis would have done if they fully...

Kittybeer,

I always liked the band Jellyfish.

I just took a gander over to Wikipedia to learn why they broke up. It was there where I read one of the best break up write ups ever:

“During the tour for Spilt Milk, Sturmer and Manning grew increasingly distant as friends. On their return home, the two songwriters independently wrote material for a third album, provisionally titled Nausea Trois. By then, they were drifting apart musically. Manning remembered that, prior, they would bond over albums such as Paul McCartney’s Ram or the Zombies’ Odessey and Oracle; however, “it was clear that none of that was happening anymore.” He said that he was “rediscovering my love of […] high-energy, fun melodic pop with attitude. And Andy was Leonard Cohen. That was it.” When Sturmer presented him a country ballad song, he accordingly “left in tears because I had zero interest in recording it.” Sturmer felt that Manning had outgrown the partnership, and for his part, was fearful that Manning’s new songs would likely inspire journalists to persistently compare the band to Alice Cooper.”

Really paints a picture!

They were a good band while it lasted.

Also…In 2004 or 2005, Coachella organizers invited Manning to reunite Jellyfish for a one-off performance at the festival. Manning advised the organizers to consult Sturmer first. Sturmer, through his lawyer, responded he would not accept the offer regardless of any amount of money involved.

Woah!!

Kittybeer,

This looks good! I’ll subscribe, thanx!

Kittybeer,

I live in Phoenix and just started to water and turn my compost daily during the summer. It looks a heck of a lot better. However, I always regard my “summer” compost to be nothing more than topsoil by the end of the season. At least it’s good for something.

Kittybeer,

okie dokie, thanx! I was just wondering since I just read something about beehaw communities shadow banning if I sign up for certain other communities and was wondering if that had something to do with it. Reference: lemm.ee/post/547600

Kittybeer,

Agh, I’m not excited about having to do that. I like to keep things simple.
