I realise I’m listening to a lot of game soundtracks, now that you are asking. Old stuff like Diablo 2 and Torchlight 2 (oh Matt Uelman, what a genius), then some sci-fi games like Mass Effect, Warframe (only the first few songs), Deep Rock Galactic. Then some RPGs like The Witcher 3 - this is so distinct and I’m instantly roaming the lands again when listening to that. Also really like Mick Gordon’s Doom but have to be in the mood for that.

Honorable mention goes to Jeremy Soule and the first Guild Wars 2 soundtrack that was fantastic, but I walked away from the game and don’t feel like listening anymore. I probably forgot some. Curious about what others like!

Cool question! Just dropping !emulation here in case some aren’t aware of that community.

I was wondering the same, doubt that we both pissed someone off. But who knows?

Well I have noticed it with my own and comments from others. Like someone saying something completely friendly/neutral and there is always that 1 downvote. Only 1.

I don’t really mind the downvotes themselves, but if people disagree with something, please say it! This is why we are here. To discuss things (in a friendly manner). I can’t learn anything new or think out of the box if people just downvote and leave.

I’m surprised about the cast. I like most of them in other films, but in this trailer, I can’t really explain, but it feels off.

Interesting. In the trailer, I don’t mind Jack Black (not sure if he is a good pick though), but I sure miss the complete insanity from Tina. That’s what made her character so crazy and fun for me (yes, that sounds weird, even for myself).

Well, Tannis too. But they apparently don’t follow the games timeline, otherwise Mordecai and Brick would be there instead of Tiny Tina and Krieg.

Well said, agree about Kevin Hart, I pictured Roland differently. I had this short flash where I pictured Roland as Arnold Schwarzenegger how he looked in Predator and that made me laugh. Predator was no comical film of course, but I could easily see Arnold do the Roland thing and I would find that amusing.

Yes, that whiny child part bugged me a lot. It doesn’t fit Tina at all.

No I loved it, interesting read.

Thank you for posting this, I remember the game, I think I still have the CDs somewhere.

Reasonable assumption, then I better go play it quick! (Btw, the site took very long to load, but now its working normally.)

Oh I completely forgot about RedHat! Yes, that was my first one too. Then Ubuntu was kinda the thing to go to and it worked for a good while until it just didn’t work for me anymore.

Today I’m on Mint because it was the first distro I tried that was able to get the Wifi working on my super old/bad HP Laptop. I started to like it and then also moved to Mint on my desktop. Running it for a year now and since my PC isn’t the youngest anymore, I doubt I will switch distro again anytime soon.

If you decide to contribute there, it’s quite clear that all the information is public. I mean you can see how the website is structured and what kind of information can be found at each entry.

Additionally, the github states the following about the protondb data: “Data exports from ProtonDB.com released under ODbL” - see here: github.com/bdefore/protondb-data

I can’t code either but I’m supporting new users in selected forums on a daily basis and I volunteer at our local linux event once a year.

Great write-up, thank you OP!

I’d like to suggest an addition: I often get the question: but will distro XY run on my device? Then I suggest to boot from an USB stick and try everything in a live session without installing anything. (And if people are just curious how it will look and feel, I recommend distrosea.com)

Also, I miss the mention of Cinnamon. Mint is very popular as you have already said and the “flagship” version comes with Cinnamon.

Sure, I just meant to avoid confusion if someone follows the suggestion to simply try Mint and then goes to “choose your DE” but then there is no Gnome or KDE for Mint to download.

Interesting to hear the difference to Fedora’s Cinnamon though, since I’ve never tried that.
