Am I the only one who enjoys games that have engaging stories. Sometimes I even turn the difficulty down, so that I enjoy the story and not struggle so much....
I do that quite often - turn down the difficulty and simply enjoy the story. Sometimes, when a game is very long for example, but I still love the characters and the story, I watch one of those “game movies” of people who made different choices or followed different paths.
Oh I see. I personally haven’t used any particularly lightweight browser, but maybe one of those would do the job: itsfoss.com/lightweight-web-browsers-linux/Glad to hear you like it so far! Hope it all checks out.
There was this summer with really bad weather when we watched Highlander almost every day. It inspired me to visit Scotland. After many many years I managed to do that and I even visited Glenfinnan so I wrote a postcard (yes, that occured many years ago ;)) back home saying: “I am Connor MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod. I was born in 1518 in the village of Glenfinnan on the shores of Loch Shiel. And I am immortal.”
I was a long time Windows user, starting with XP. I only tried Linux a few years ago, and while I loved it, at the time I had to dual boot for a couple specific Windows only things (VR and flight/racing sim hardware)....
I had an extraordinary experience today, but it didn’t relate to a hobby or career or political topic. I tried to find an appropriate community but I guess I don’t have the right terms. Where can one turn to share triumphs, defeats, and sacred moments?
I do not experience the behaviour with the cursor, but when a game in fullscreen doesn’t play nice, I move it to the second workspace (with a keybind) and then quickly switch to the first workspace with another keybind. Both are easy to remember and as fast as alt + tab.
I had issues with Onlyoffice taking ages to load documents with lots of pages while Libreoffice did it instantly as expected. So back to Libreoffice for me.
Hi! Thank you for Lemmy! So, when I load the page with Chrome, I’m always shown as logged out. I have to refresh the page, and then suddenly I’m logged in. I found that this bug exists only on Chrome, on all OSes (Linux, Windows, and Mac), and it exists both on lemmy.ml, and on lemmy.world....
Sorry for not answering your question, just wanted to say, I have a similar HP Laptop bought under similar circumstances and it IS Linux unfriendly (you cannot even update the BIOS without Windows). But Linux Mint handles it very well. It was the first distro that got the WiFi working without headaches and it also handles the AMD card well.
I hope someone can answer your actual question and you get something you’re happy with.
Oh my, you are really patient for putting up with all this for such a long time. Yes, I have slightly different components, not the exact same ones, but it was also a mess to get it to work properly.
This may be surprising, but Subnautica is my comfort game, even though the game isn’t purely relaxing and has some scary parts. But the gameplay loop is so satisfying, the story is nice even after several playthroughs and there is beauty in these alien underwater biomes. I just wish it was longer, now that I know where to find what, it gets quite short :)
Second comfort game is Terraria but I also play that for entertainment/when I feel a rush of creativity for building stuff. And it’s just so nice to dig your way through a large world and find all the hidden items.

How do you switch window focus while gaming?
I’m new to having Linux on my main rig. It’s been about a month now. I’m hoping someone has a better way to handle focus while gaming....
