That’s not very exotic.

Coolercontrol - a GUI to setup fan profiles based on temperature sensors in your system (other than just cpu from the bios) (gitlab.com)

I was just reminded of how useful this was for me, since i was too lazy to setup fan curves in the cli with pwmconfig. This took me 10 minutes of tinkering and my temps went down a lot under load on my gpu and the machine is a lot more silent when idling.

I still haven’t managed to make it work on Nobara. I didn’t know it was well known though, I’ll give it a try again soon!

Edit: I did manage to install Puppy Linux onto it, but I was severely limited by the CPU which is 32bits. I’m trying another old laptop next! Thanks everyone!
