Liz,

He’s almost certainly in America, where a lot of the ecological systems are supposed to burn every once in a while. It’s also common that the invasive species can’t handle it. We’ve messed up a lot of our ecosystems by suppressing wildfires, and it’s causing multiple kinds of problems.

Liz,

It’s funny because it’s weird. Normally you would expect that masculine traits would be argued for I’m a leader, so to straight-face claim the male leader needs to be made feminine is a funny inversion of social and gender roles.

It’s basically the reverse of that comedy where The Rock is the tooth fairy.

Liz,

Yeah they work like ::: spoiler this –where the title of this spoiler is “this,” attempting to make this interjection fit smoothly inside the sentence– ::: but the markup and formatting makes them kinda weird to try and put inside a block of text.

Liz,

It’s still ridiculous that capital is taxed at a lower rate than labor.

Liz, (edited )

I’ve seen a 36 inch 3-color one, but I can’t find the supplier anymore. It’s used for signage. I honestly don’t know why this isn’t a bigger thing for signage.

newatlas.com/…/sharp-color-eposters-e-ink-gallery…

Slightly smaller than the one I saw, but better colors.

Liz,

I make sure to give my guess and also append as many logs and exact information as possible, right down to every step I took that produced the problem.

So far my success rate with the forums is 0%. But hey, people at least tried to be helpful!

Liz,

It’s not a loophole, it’s a private sale exception. A loophole would be an unintended result, but private sales have were intentionally exempted from background checks.

Anyway, the problem isn’t that private sales don’t require background checks, it’s that some people are running businesses pretending to be private sellers. Those are the people the Biden administration is trying to target, not random people selling off a few old guns from their private collection.

Liz,

Everyone who put on the PACE trial should be exercised to death.

Liz,

Also, I think it’s downright absurd that MECFS gets ignored so much. That shit is way more common than we like to admit and it can turn a healthy person into a massive drain on everyone around them (ignoring their own suffering, of course). Like, you would think we’d be super motivated to fix this shit.

Liz,

As a scientific researcher I am amazed at everyone being all like “yeah me too.”

#WHAT

How you about to be citing something without being 100% sure it actually supports your claim? That shit could easily have a bunch of qualifications you don’t know about!

#ALSO

Bruh. If it’s worth citing, it’s worth reading the whole paper. You might learn something or gain inspiration for future work. Plus, you know, always be learnin, yo.

You guys are gonna hate me.

Liz,

Lol at that paper.

My favorite part about Dunning-Kruger is that I see extremely wrong explanations of it all the time. While being wrong isn’t exactly what Dunning-Kruger is about, it’s usually what those wrong explanations think it’s about.

Liz,

Liz,

Nah we’re just all stuck on the internet, on account of the MECFS :P

Liz,

Love me some approval voting. Let’s make that shit happen.

Liz,

At least you’ll get to shoot back

Liz,

If it’s one person, yes. If it’s an entire crowd of people open carrying rifles, not so much.

Liz,

After the first stat it’s probably normalized to population.

Liz,

They put that link in all their comments. It’s got nothing to do with what they say.

Liz,

Yeah I mean, you gotta be something special to think light green polka dots on a medium green background is a good look for a curtain.

Liz,

Sure, but like, you gotta know where to advertise. Most people don’t like having their point hijacked even if you’re right.

Liz,

Yeah I agree, arguably the proportional representation part is more important, but it’s easier to start small and then repurpose your organization for bigger goals. I push for approval because:

  1. practically anything is way better than FPTP
  2. It requires zero voter education to implement
  3. it can easily be adapted to any kind of winner system
  4. A whole bunch of other stuff that gets into graphs and voting criterion and shit like that
