What Russia is doing in Ukraine literally falls under the definition of genocide.

There is zero denying it is genocide.

Rightwing chuds always love supporting imperialism.

Marsupial,
@Marsupial@quokk.au avatar

Sure.

But do you care about genocide? Because you or I can’t change the US government as easily as you can stop yourself right now from defending genocide.

So let’s start with the most basic, easiest thing for you to do and we’ll work up from there?

I’m sorry, but I don’t want to be an emperor. That’s not my business. I don’t want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone - if possible - Jew, Gentile - black man - white. We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each other’s happiness - not by each other’s misery. We don’t want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone. And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way.

Yeah, sadly no one wants to follow Chaplins foot streps.

While both are heinous, they are separate acts.

  • Ethnic cleansing is the forced removal of a peoples from an area.
  • Genocide is the removal of a peoples entirely either through killing or erasing culture.

There is generally a large amount of overlap between the two however, which is not helped by the lack of a legal definition of ethnic cleansing. What Israel is currently doing is undoubtedly genocide.

Nah, this is part of genocidal behaviour.

Apartheid forced the people into small areas, such as what was done in Gaza/West Bank. What’s happening now is trying to remove them even from those regions.

Marsupial,
@Marsupial@quokk.au avatar

Oh and before and scum try and defend Israel, this was in the West Bank not Gaza.

Oh and if you want to do the “b-b-but they’re investigating it!”

Israel rarely prosecutes such cases, and human rights groups say soldiers rarely receive serious punishments even if wrongdoing is found. In a high-profile case, an Israeli soldier was convicted of manslaughter and served a reduced nine-month sentence in jail after shooting a badly wounded Palestinian who was lying on the ground in 2016.

Well when you cut out the middle section it tends to distort things

After Gaza’s al-Ahli hospital was hit by a mysterious blast on October 17, killing numerous civilians, the Israeli government resorted to desperate efforts to deny responsibility for the attack and instead blame Hamas.

A deliberate military attack on a hospital is as clear a war crime as they come, and Israeli officials seemed to understand that were they pinned for the blame, it would be devastating to Israel’s international standing and further turn global sentiment against its military campaign.

(Several independent reports since have lent credence to Israeli claims that the culprit may have been a misfired Hamas rocket).

Not to mention the desperate measures links to a Reuters article about “Fact Check: Video of missile strike near Gaza hospital predates October 2023 war”, showing how some of the propaganda being pumped out to help ensure they did not get ‘pinned for the blame’ was faked; A rather desperate measure one might say.

He was more than just an explorer, and the cultural impact of him extends an even deeper meaning to Aboriginal people.

Like the guy literally had secret, sealed instructions to take control of the continent.

He’s also one of the first British people to shoot an Aboriginal person.

Because the statue was what made us learn about and remember the terrible effect of colonialism on Aboriginal people.

Let’s go put up some statues of Hitler lest we forget about what happened during WW2.

Do they expect them to grow wings?

Can’t go north, can’t go south, can’t go central, can’t go down, where are they meant to go?

But that does nothing unless they tell us they’re doing that.

If I just see the service getting slow, I’m not going to “Oh this is because of my adblocker, better turn it off to go fast” I’m going to think “Fuck YT is turning to shit, it cant even load a page. I’ll go watch Twitch or something”

The X-37b first flew in 2010.

It’s cool to see other countries join in such as Europes IXV first flown in 2015.

But yeah Chinas certainly playing catch-up here despite what the title implies.

Hiring people because they’re marginalised and may be able to provide different insights into issues has its place in society until we can fix those issues.

When we’re truly equal, we can be equal.
