What kind of is it if I have to spend half my day getting LLMs to generate various custom Python scripts that are mainly used to process and manipulate data?

So much on lately. Lots of pseudo agencies/SEOs pushing their spammy articles as if it's link building...

Look what you've become!

Nothing else interests you anymore - just links.

You've become obsessed with these KWs and AI content!

I miss the times when you used to give me compliments, not analyze the KW density in my phrases.

Even on our honeymoon, you spent time optimizing the website of the hotel we stayed at, and it still got banned!

I dreamed of romance, but you kept mumbling about EEAT & PageRank.

Come to your senses!

There are more important things in life than being #1 on SERP.

This is what SEO veterans look like - the ones still standing strong doing SEO while the new generations laugh at them for talking bullshit.

Yes, survivorship bias - because many others just couldn't make it because of their wrong mindset, strategies and lack of critical thinking.

Some of the best didn't make it for other reasons, like Bill Slawski (RIP).

This is one of the best travel sites I used: visitingvienna.com

I read it over and over again before and during my New Year's trip to Vienna, Austria last winter. And this site made my family vacation brilliant.

You can call it a niche site.

But it's not made to rank, it doesn't use the same tricks of over-optimizing to death. No fluff, no lame intros.

Check it out, folks.
What do you think of it?

@mariyadelano I can't say for everyone, but it helped me a lot and I can recommend it to friends.

I just saw a thread on Reddit where the OP says they won't hire an SEO whose own site doesn't rank well (or who doesn't even have their own site).

❓Question: Should SEOs have to rank their own sites at all to be considered good at ?

Yes, Google sees search getting better and SEOs see it getting worse.

That's because Google treats SEOs differently from the rest of the world.

So yes, many of you don't suspect that we're just user personas that Google is serving the SERPs we deserve.

Google is teaching us all a lesson by trying to demonstrate how searchers feel when they visit our shitty SEO-first sites.

The more you get into running your own sites, the more coding you'll do, even if you're not a developer.

To most people in the world, you and I are nothing, just low volume keywords. Not even low hanging fruit.

Well, to some, we're entities.

I just had a crazy idea for an SEO contest.

Imagine 100 SEO experts competing to rank mystery websites where they can't build backlinks or use AI tools.

They just get the site's niche in advance.

For one month, all they can do is on-page , technical SEO, and content creation.

Whoever gets the most search traffic wins!

But here's the kicker - in the end, everyone would find out that Googlebot was blocked in the .htaccess files for their sites the whole time.

How much would you suffer if one day you couldn't use keyboard shortcuts like CTRL+C, CTRL+V, CTRL+X, CTRL+Z (on Windows PC) or Command-C/V/Z/X (on Mac)?

Many SEOs link to similar content in their supplemental content lists.

As if a user who just read how to cook rice would also want to know how to cook buckwheat...

The better approach is to link to correlational content - think of this real-world example:

  1. Where to party >
  2. How not to get drunk too fast >
  3. Where to eat late at night in London >
  4. How to recover from a hangover.

Let me start, no, it's not the "SEO heist".

Hell, I can't choose between Yandex leak and HCU.

The only thing that helped the site rank like crazy was ______.

Guess the most likely word or phrase.

And then think of what would not be the most likely in LLM style, but rather the most possible in style.
