One thing that would be great in Mastodon clients would be an option to see larger versions of emojis for those of us with sight problems.
I would just list them as a line of large emojis below the message, as they appear in @MonaApp ‘s emoji picker for example. Obviously that would appear only when tapping on a message to see replies, not in the feed. And be optional as I guess younger people would not understand the need.
Mona 6.3 is now available on the App Store, with a new Explore tab that let you explore trending posts, news, people suggestions, and local/remote/federated timelines on your own server and other Mastodon servers.
Also, you can now add multiple following people or followers to your lists at once, unfollow multiple people at once, and remove people from your follower list.

@Aaron Hi, looks like you are using the Mac version, so you could just press the down arrow until one search record is highlighted, then keep pressing the delete key to delete all of them.
so I know this is a week late, but I just saw the AppleVis newsletter, but I would love to give @MonaApp a big, huge congratulations on winning the AppleVis App Hall of Fame! I'm pretty sure that a lot of my fellow blind Mastodoners would agree that Mona is the best app out there for the platform. I personally haven't touched any other Mastodon app since I've discovered Mona. The accessibility, and the customizability is just awesome! Not sure if Voice Vista is on Mastodon, but congratulations to them as well! 🎉🥳🎊👯🍾
@MonaApp feature request: on macOS please have the app remember the “check spelling while I type” setting so that when I turn it on it stays on. Currently if I set it to on and then quit Mona and relaunch it the setting is turned off again.
Thank you.
I have found an odd bug in the macOS versions of several Mastodon apps: @MonaApp@IceCubesApp and @ivory. It may happen in others. Does not appear to happen in the iOS version of Mona; haven’t tried the other two.
When I create a post with body text, a URL and a hashtag, and then highlight the entire text in preparation for a copy, then the text of hashtag is inserted into the body copy, overwriting some characters. Screenshot attached. (1/2)
@dsilverman Thank you for the report and sorry for the late response. This is an auto-correction bug introduced by Apple in macOS 14. I will solve in the Mona 6.4.1 update.
We need to talk about rate limiting. If somebody posts a huge number of posts within a short period (say, 50 posts over a 3 hour period) this is one heck of a #SensoryOverload for me. Sometimes there may be good reasons for a huge burst of posts (a contemporaneous event or long post being split into many micro posts. Notwithstanding, it is overload for me.
I wonder if there would be a way for @MonaApp to somehow apply an auto-mute when somebody is burst posting?
@MonaApp i'm encountering an extremely disruptive bug. I'm browsing my home timeline, and open a link from a post. When I come back to the app, focus has moved all the way back to whichever post I interacted with previously, before opening the link from this one. That previous post may be tens or hundreds of posts behind my reading position, requiring a lot of swipes to get back there. Hope i've explained this in a way that makes sense.
