If I create a Shared Photo Album in iCloud Photos, do all the pictures in the Shared Photo Album count against my storage? Do they count against other’s storage that I invite to the album?

Surprising Nobody, the Humane AI Pin Sucks

Humane's hardware looks nice. The main concept is appealing. But when you're peddling a $700 metal square with a required subscription that’s basically paying the equivalent of re-buying the pin every 2.4 years, you better nail that core experience. Humane is aiming for the clouds but forgot to tie its shoes before stepping onto the field.

My prediction is they'll be bargain-bin devices, or the company is gone, in a year.

@ghalldev Yeah, but if you know to ask, then you’ll get ‘em. On the flip-side I have so. many. stickers. because I always worry about where to put them and don’t want to waste them. Now I have like 6-10 laying around.

I have a Sonos Roam speaker (waterproof wireless triangular one). I know I can boss it around with my voice to play music. Is there a way to have it pass things (like Reminders for example) to Siri? I doubt it but I figured if anyone did know they hang out on Mastodon and might tell me.

@Verso I’ve had Sonos speakers (though not the Roam) for a long time and find its integration with anything to be sub-par. Does it use its own assistant or Alexa? If Alexa, maybe getting reminders into it and then Zapier to move those to an  reminder?

@Verso Wow, that’s some shower speaker! I have a cheapie ‘splash resistant’ bluetooth speaker I use for the shower. I think it was $25 on Amazon a few years ago. 😆

There’s something suprememly appealing about the idea of buying / owning digital music again. I’ve been an Apple Music subscriber since Day 1 (from Beats Music!) and I love the discovery. But there is something about buying the songs I miss.

But… I can’t justify doing both and many times I just want to put on curated playlists that leads to new discoveries. Such is the lock-in of streaming music.

Glad to see Rivian adding a lock screen battery/range widget. I built this for my Ioniq 5 with a Shortcut and AllMyBatteries widget. I honestly would have loved this for my gas car too as I usually pushed it too far and would make me late at times.

@mccarron Hey Patrick. I have an I5 and I’m curious how you got the widget to refresh on its own. I looked through the Reddit post and I have your shortcut working along with that output updating the AllMyBatteries widget.

But how do I go about refreshing that value automatically? I figure the shortcut has to run on its own at times? Any insight would help. Thanks!
