Wonder how my friend would react if I brought my Chika plush to cuddle at night when I stay over and sleep on their couch :btr_ryo_lurk: I doubt that they would care honestly.
@fujiwara It's one of those things that if you act natural, and insistently 'yeah, it helps me sleep' they'll probably just shrug. If you're worried, just say you use it as an additional pillow.
Half the reason people tease us for various things is because we expose that it bothers us. If we show it has no power, they usually just shrug and move on.
@mdmrn my brain went to "Idahobbit" like a subgroup of hobbits native to idaho. Which from my experience of Idaho... isn't too different of a reaction from yours.
TIL: IDAHOBIT stands for 'The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia'. Neat.
@fujiwara My general experience is that doing something you love for economic gain is tough. Between play and work, the 'work' part almost always wins out and you end up hating the thing you did just for love.
A coworker of mine literally had a heart attack and his supervisor came into my office to somehow make the whole situation about herself and how she basically "saved the day" by calling 911. I'm just worried about the guy but I can't get an answer about him from her...
@fujiwara I don't understand why people shoot the messenger. Most support people are operating to the best of their ability given the circumstances and the crappiness of support is almost always due to factors and mandates above the support person's paygrade. There is no reason to be nasty about it.
I wish people would stop using bit.ly and other link shorteners. I can never trust them, and the problem they solve seems largely artificially created. I don't ever want the URL of something I am visiting obscured.
I was forced to use Microsoft teams to meet with customers. This is the first time I've touched teams in years. Well, it crashed 3 times during the last meeting. The last time the interface crashed, but audio was still working so we ran with it.
I'm glad to see its still a pile of flaming hot garbage.
It's pouring down rain here today and it doesn't seem like it's going to let up. I'm not a big fan of the rain/stormy weather, especially when it's already so humid here. I'm going to try to stay inside as much as I can today. If I had to go outside though, I wish I could share an umbrella with Chika. Her happiness is so infectious that I wouldn't mind getting soaked in the rain if I'm with her! In fact I'd give her the coat off my back to keep her dry. She deserves that, and more.
@fujiwara Agreed. This would make a pretty wonderful model.
I happen to love the rain and can't help but want to step outside (even sans coat/umbrella) whenever it starts to come down. I really like things in rain-theme too. While I'm only a moderate Kaguya-sama fan, a chika-in-the-rain figure would be pretty tempting.
@fujiwara I feel like Kaguya-sama was popular enough that it'll enter the remake-cycle. Eventually someone will want to get the manga recirculating and we'll get more media to spark more merchandise.
@anianimalsmoe I wasn't sure since search wasn't turning anything up for tea certification except something in Texas. Anyways, that is super exciting. Who does certification for these things, out of curiosity?
I hope you keep sharing your journey in this regard. :akko_smile2:
@fujiwara It's really hard to pay artists sometimes. Like you said, It's hard to tell what is and isn't just ripped off junk, and then once you find an artist's site with stuff you like, it's often ... a ghost ship. A gallery that accepts orders but the artist is clearly gone.
My walls are kinda bare at this place and I've been looking for stuff to put up. I recently found some prints I really liked, bought a bunch. Then after several weeks with no traction, the artist cancelled the order without refunding anything, so that was a fun call to the bank. So its also back to the hunt for me...
The thing I hate most about #macOS is how simple problems which should have simple solutions on any other operating system almost ALWAYS have no solution at all. The #Apple Forum's super helpful too, can always count on them to give you the "welp, you should've not had that problem in the first place - too bad <3".
In this case, the context is: you cannot copy over your #TimeMachine backups from a drive to another - which seems like a very fucking logical thing to do for when your backup is growing or your drive is aging. The solution provided by everyone is to just "start a new backup on the new drive" or "you should've used a bigger drive 3 years ago". These fucking bitches.
@irfan Yep 😐 I have a problem right now where every time I connect my bluetooth headphones, Apple Music autostarts and demands I set it up. There appears to be no way to disable this, and all the hacks/workarounds I've tried seem to only work on older OS versions (or don't work for me). It drives me crazy.
"welp, you should've not had that problem in the first place - too bad <3".
My other favorite is 'This isn't a problem for me, how could it possibly be a problem for you? I just don't understand how anyone could differ from me. Have you tried walking a mile in my clownshoes?'
I can't believe it's already been 30 weeks of Fujiwara Fridays! That means I've been on here for almost a year, sharing my love for Chika with everyone :ChikaHappy: it's been a great time and I can't wait to share even more!
This picture is so beautiful. The artist did amazing work on it and it really showcases how gorgeous she truly is. I love her so much, with all of my heart.
@fujiwara Huh. I didn't realize we joined the fediverse at nearly the same time (6/10/2023 for me, 6/15/2023 for you). I actually thought you'd been here longer :MidoriLaugh:
Thank you for sharing every week. :anotherdancingchika:
@fujiwara Mary Smith, Mary Smith … x100. They’re just normal people, but I am sure there are 100 distinct women with that name out there. That’s what your friend gets for not being specific.
Huh. I just noticed that in Mastodon my posts (from this account) are not marked as EN (English) despite having that set in all relevant settings I know about in Sharkey. I suppose anyone who is filtering by English in Mastodon is not liable to see me then.
