As an older, and increasingly jaded gamer, I’m having a hard time remembering when I’ve last been so excited over a release as this one. Riven is seemingly getting the gold-standard treatment with a ground-up remake that not only utilizes 3D (and VR) to give depth to the world but also adds new content while keeping the...
The Federal Trade Commission is sending $5.6 million in refunds to Ring users whose private video feeds were accessed without consent by Amazon employees and contractors, or had their accounts and devices hacked because of insufficient security protections.
I watch TV shows when I do cardio in the morning, and it’s a minor annoyance to reach for the remote to select the next episode, or skip show intro and credits. Is there a good and reliable way to get that working for all the TV shows that I have ripped FROM DVDs and Blu-ray?
I never consent to give my data away or being tracked, but how do you deal with so called legitimate interest? I tried several times to untick them but it is a long list (in fact at the bottom there is a “vendors” link with even longer, much longer list. It took me 10 minutes to get to the bottom of it once)....

Target, which sells everything from daily groceries to clothes and electronics, has confirmed rumours that it will sell DVDs, Blu-rays and 4K Blu-rays only at specified times of the year as well, as stocking...
Not really. I scalp the Internet for any deals I can find and also thrift stores etc. I dunno how many times I’ve seen brand new copies of DVDs and blu rays at thrift stores. Not old releases either
While people are losing their minds over orange man, they do this stuff in the background. Biden obviously doesn’t care either. People need to realize our government is not on anybody’s side but their own.
FF7 came out at the perfect time and it really redefined RPGs in the USA. I know it exposed me to this kind of gameplay and genre that I had never experienced before. Unless you count some of the NES RPGs. Those never captivated attention like FF7 did.
I recently got a Sony prs 600 e reader from 2009. The battery is at the end of its life (It lasts about 3 days with heavy reading, and a couple weeks without reading). No backlight, no Wi-Fi, just an SD card that I can load epub files and small PDFs. The screen is slow and the contrast isn’t the best. The “touch screen” is...

Just a few attention-grabbing retro game ads that would land studios in hot water today. (more in post body) (lemmy.world)
I know they’re insensitive and tacky, but I have to admit that a part of me misses when games ads were off the walls like this....
I am truly impressed with this AI-generated music. The lyrics are a... software license. The music manages to have very good rhythm and variations even with that lyrics. (streamable.com)
