U.K. "Labour would not recognise Palestine, Starmer says". https://www.newarab.com/news/labour-would-not-recognise-palestine-starmer-says
Well, I don't recognize the "Labour" party as leftist or even slightly center-left and I still don't know why they got an apparent Tory to rule the "Labour" party.
I still, even considering my non-recognition, wouldn't support genocide against the faux "Labour" party, so that's another difference between me and Starmer.
Some videos of the bombardment night to today by Iran's counter-revolutionary and imperialist-aggression force IRGC in Hewlêr/Erbil, capital city of Başûr/Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
They claim to have targeted "Mossad", but anyone can be declared "Mossad" by the Iran-regime and just assassinating someone because you decide you don't like them is... murder, whether it's done by USA, Iran, Russia or anyone else. Another target was a base with USA military which remains there officially on invitation for the purpose of continuing fight against the frequent ISIL/Daesh-resurgence attempts.
Of course this is illegal war of aggression as well as war crimes e.g. through the use of weapons by their nature indiscriminate in civilian populated areas.
The Iran-regime also announced it had committed similar acts in the areas officially called Syria during the night to today,
presumably primarily in continuation of the attacks a couple of days ago against the democratic confederalist opposition Free Life Party of (eastern, Iran-held) Kurdistan (PJAK) and its feminist freedom guerrillas HPJ and YRK, as well as probably other opposition.
@b9AcE Abdullah Ocalan in his books describes how a society in order to be free must be diverse. He insists on the active role of various ethnicities and religious affiliations in the Middle East to build a new, more just, society against the warmongers and the elite caste. Chaldeans and Assiryans have been working together with Muslims in that area to repel imperialist and fundamentalist attacks. this is something the general public in the West often ignore so thank you for sharing this
@b9AcE those books have recently been translated into Italian and they launched the new edition of Sociology of Freedom at the Ararat Kurdish Cultural Ce tre in Rome, there I had the opportunity to read them. Unfortunately it is a small publisher, Punto Rosso edizioni, and it is almost impossible to find those in bookshops, which is a shame because this is possibly the most important and inspiring political book published in this century so far
Certo che no.
@GustavinoBevilacqua
THREAD: Whitewashing the Bayraktar TB2's bloodshed.
I'm addressing this topic, as it's relevant again and it got erased with my previous instance:
When the discussion of affirmative action in journalism is brought up, some believe that the sole objective of it is ensuring employment and growth opportunities for journalists of all backgrounds.
They couldn't be more wrong. By diversifying a newsroom, you ensure greater care for ethics & sensitivities of a broader and all encompassing audience.
@ZekuZelalem there was a popular account called "bayraktar love" on twitter that had a mirror in the fediverse and a lot of self proclaimed "anarchists" were enthusiastically sharing videos of drone strikes from that account. there should be a name for this very new paraphilia of enjoying drone strikes video, my proposal is "polemoporneia"
My medical transport driver to the hospital (I'm fine) after a while started explaining "see I'm from Afghanistan, but I'm not Pashtun, Hazara, Baloch or any of those, im of a people much smaller in Afghanistan, I'm a Turkmen and we are a people come fr..."
me: "Oooh, yes, I know. I know there are many Turkmen in the Rojava Revolution and all the way up to where all the Turkic peoples originated north of current China, about where the Uighurs remain still and..."
driver: smiles "Oh, wow you really DO know!".
:-)
Then we sat the rest of the trip agreeing on the failure of USA/etc's strategies in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc, on that Rojava-model is probably greatest plausible hope for Afghanistan, Middle and Near East and beyond and such stuff.
Nice trip.
@b9AcE had a similar conversation with an Afghan driver in Barcelona, not that he was talking about being Turkmen but about his trip, his family etc.
Hope everything is ok! Get well soon

@GustavinoBevilacqua
