Oh, it can get worse. If Windows market share should really plummet, it won’t be replaced by a heterogenous distro utopia but some company like Canonical or Red Hat or a new one will get their distribution to fill the gap. And call me a cynic but I doubt this will be immune to enshittification.
But even that scenario is better than what we have with Microsoft and Apple. The FOSS world would still benefit like it does from the Steam Deck developments.
Even better would be to close and create a new lobby with your friends. The random player then gets a message that the host left instead of them having been kicked.
I agree. Militant meat eaters are just as annoying as cliché vegans but there seem to be more of the former.
Reducing meat consumption is probably the best way to go for most people (I’ve reduced mine because of my vegetarian wife and don’t feel like I miss anything) but eating strictly vegan doesn’t seem right to me. Anything that requires supplementation in the long run cannot be the final answer.
Calls are fine but I get irrationally annoyed about voice messages. I hate those!
Calls are still acceptable in most settings (and easily blocked if not) but I won’t turn on my speakers with strangers around.
I hate that how-to questions often are answered by some shitty YouTube video for the same reason (but even when alone I won’t watch your crappy 10 min video for something that could literally be answered by a single sentence).
For me it’s driving while under the influence. If you couldn’t tell, I like me some ganja. However I have long since held the belief that it is utterly insane to drive while under the influence of most substances, with maybe nicotine and caffeine being the exception. All too often I see other stoners smoking and driving,...
I generally don’t get people like that. Starting a conversation with a stranger about polarizing topics like politics or religion is just high risk low benefit gamble.
Personally I think this is child abuse. Forcing politics / religion on children should be fucking illegal.
That’s hard though. The kids obviously have fun, it’s a game for them.
So what’s the abuse? Them giving the finger? Come on… Them unknowingly giving a (wrong?) political message? Yeah, we all know where that would lead to.
Are you surprised when a good meaning person asks when a slightly chubby woman is due, when she isn’t actually pregnant?
Actually, yes, because that’s been widely known as a risky question to ask for so long it would surprise me. Then I would question them actually being a well-meaning person.
Actually, yeah, because selling copies is all they care about. And the fact that Epic decided to help get EAC running via Proton back in 2022 shows, that Valve’s endeavor does have impact.
Still far better than a proprietary kernel made by a tech corp, carried hardly changed from release to release, even fewer people maintain, and if they do they might well be adding a backdoor themselves for their government agency friends.
Even then you don’t go “you don’t understand x!”. You make an actual point about something in the presentation, usually with enough self-doubt to state it as a question.
If the whole presentation is trash in your opinion, just leave.
