It’s really fucking ridiculous that it’s still considered weird when men/boys wear skirts or dresses. It’s getting better especially on red carpets etc but in a narrow-minded town in narrow-minded Britain my sons who have both bought lovely dresses are worried about wearing them for fear of violence.

I’m so tired of how fucked up the world is, friends. It just seems so hopeless and we’re constantly backsliding.

For sure yeah, and I think you're right that there are signs of progress lurking here and there. We're just in the middle of a big backslide and shift to the right. It's tough. Hopefully things will eventually calm down and we'll be better able to address this stuff ♥️

@RomanticIsa Yeah I think I was naive about this for a long while. I thought after the civil rights movement and everything, that we'd reached a better period of acceptance. I had no idea it would be so easy to fuel all this hatred and regressive attitudes towards sex and gender and race and everything else.

I hate to close myself off from things but I think these days I have to take it in small bites and stick to my own bubble to a degree. It can get too much to be exposed to it all the time

I wish it weren't that way but I'm not sure what can be done about it right now

@RomanticIsa That's 100% fair and valid honestly. If you treat those around you with respect and pass those values down to your kids, then you're doing everything you can already. We can't all dedicate ourselves to full social advocacy, that's a major burden these days.
