Rolive,

At work it’s because things are intentionally made difficult and arduous. Anything from SAP or HCL is stupidly convoluted so that they can extort their customers with expensive consultants combined with the sunk cost fallacy.

Also for users, every 3 months they will change the UI for no reason

Rolive,

I’m Commander Shepard and this is my favorite comment in this thread.

Rolive,

In my universe it’s not Berenstain or Berenstein…

…it’s bloodstain

Dell responds to return-to-office resistance with VPN, badge tracking, and color-coding of employees (arstechnica.com)

After reversing its position on remote work, Dell is reportedly implementing new tracking techniques on May 13 to ensure its workers are following the company’s return-to-office (RTO) policy, The Register reported today, citing anonymous sources....

Rolive,

That’s how it is in the company I work for. They aren’t strict about it though, we are supposed to be in office 3/5 days but some people barely make 1/5 . As far as I know nobody cares as there is no tracking system yet.

Can somebody explain why game makers don't start their own companies together?

It seems like every other week a game studio is massively laying off employees; sometimes after years of development. What I’m reading is that it’s a quick way to lower expenses and pad the investors’ pockets, flooding the market with developers and reducing their value, to then hire them back a few months later at lower...

Rolive,

You see the results of indie devs that are successful but you don’t see the ones that failed.

Rolive,

At least it’s the Buddicks swastika.

Rolive,

I think you mean having to mount the subvolumes instead of the partition itself.

This can be done by mount -o subvol=whatever /btrfspartition /mountpoint

After having done that it’s the same.

Rolive, (edited )

I’ve always used BTRFS with rolling release distros like Arch or Tumbleweed and never had an issue with the filesystem.

Rolive,

Sekiro on the steam deck. It’s difficult since I never bother with parrying in action games but it’s quite fun.

Rolive,

Deezer Free randomly became unavailable a few weeks ago in the Netherlands.

Rolive,

Centipedes sure but we don’t get the big tropical horrors in Europe.

Rolive,

Honestly. I try to use Lemmy for positive stuff as much as possible. Hobby stuff, jokes and as few political comments as possible.

I use reddit to vent frustration and bitch and moan.

Rolive,

Geez… how about my workload drops to zero and I commit sudoku instead?

Rolive,

Everything has happened before and everything happen again.

Rolive,

Where is Odin, guiding axes spears and swords?

Rolive,

I use a mushroom stamp as biometric login.

Rolive,

I think the productivity curve should be exponential instead of linear due to all sorts of automation…

Rolive,

Thanks. Haha no I fully intend to grow vegetables. I don’t even like weed. The last time I smoked it eas 20 years ago, it gave me a panic attack and I never touched it since.

Rolive,

Also in Dutch. It’s “schildpad”.
