I am now at a point where I have lived more of my life in the 21st century than the 20th.

I knew it had to be close to that point and was thinking I should have a “half life” party to celebrate the occassion, but apparently it was nearly 2 months ago so I missed it.

Very good point. There was no year zero, so the official turn of century (and millenium) is 2001. This means I have nearly 2 more years and can have my “half life” party after all!

I believe the separation is based on the vinegar content. Sauces, pickles etc. all contain vinegar and are therefore separated from the less acidic spreads. Maple syrup is separated due to its excessive liquidity meaning it can only be poured, not spread.

Actually apple sauce also messes the system up. My theory is that these are false sauces, snuck into the dinner repertoire in place of mint sauce and apple chutney, most likely a ploy to sneak breakfast into more meals by the type of deviant who consideres cereal for dinner to be a desireable thing. I do have concerns that these are just the start of a trend to have non-vinegar condiments take over the sauce space.

Dishwasher leak identification step 1 has been completed. I have a puddle of water on the floor after every wash and I was concerned it was coming from a leaking hose connection behind the dishwasher, so I pulled it out to check. No sign of any water there, so it appears to be coming from the door. There is a hole where a screw is supposed to attach to the cupboard which was not used so I’ve put some tape over it just in case water is getting out there. There is no sign of any wear or damage to any of the door seals so I’m not sure what the next step is.

I think mine might have a broken/worn gear. The motor still works and they sort of still turn but slowly and with little power.
