This week I couldn’t make it to aldi so did my shop online at Coles. The whole things ridiculous. I spent so much more than I would’ve at aldi for the same things :/
I also got to experience their downsized bag things and I do not like them. Apparently they were rolled out because they match the height of the crate things or some shit, but I really believe it was just another dirty tactic for getting more money out of us. I didn’t even fucking want bags, but I didn’t get a say, it wouldn’t let me not get bags. Now I have a double the amount of bags and because they’re so small I don’t even know what I can use them for. They’re just going in the recycling
Thank you! I tried to, but he’s been ignoring my attempts to reach out for a week. No calls or texts back. I know he has been on his phone. His friends have posted videos on social media of them goofing around a bit. He probably wants to break up with me if he’s gone this long without talking to me.
I totally understand the studying thing because I am studying too. But to never return a call or wish your partner a happy birthday because you’re so focused on giving them the silent treatment? That really hurts.
Time to give him the flick. You are the one doing all the emotional labour here - he’s coasting and exploiting your anxieties. He has time to goof off with mates, but can’t spend 15 seconds texting you. Time to call it quits and move on.
Also, I’m playing this game called “Cult of the Lamb” and I have to say, it’s adorable, addictive and a hell of a lot of fun. That’s my evening sorted.
I can’t believe I never noticed it before. It’s the perfect blend of genres. There’s a bunch of mods for it as well, but I’m not touching them just yet.

Cult of the lamb is a mix between dungeon crawler and base building. It’s really clever and fun even if you’re not a fan of those types of games generally.
Gimme vintage cheddar cheese - ordinary even tasty cheddar just doesn’t have enough bite. I’m not all that fond of Cracker Barrel - I quite like the Aldi vintage one though.
I like the Aldi one too, but they carefully label it “vintage cheese” (no mention of cheddar anywhere on the packaging, AFAICT). I guess they’re taking a shortcut that means it can’t be called cheddar? 🤷
Would not surprise me. I don’t actually mind, as they’re a LOT more careful with their labelling than some supermarkets I could mention (cough cough colesworth cough cough). An honest label is fine by me. Anyway, cheddaring is a separate process in cheesemaking, and an optional one in my opinion. It’s the end result that counts with me.

I’ve never tried them honestly. I’ve walked past the one near Flinders so many times and it almost always has long lines out the front, but I’ve never tried them
it isn’t just sites like insta or fb or apps that are designed to suck your attention and time that are worse, the net has become a battlefield between countries
they are fighting for your approval and your vote and the bad guys will use lies to get it
Basically, in February 2019, there was a some corporate politicking going on within Google.
The search/tech experts (some who had been there from the start) wanted to improve search results.
The finance guys wanted to deliberately make search results worse so people would search more often and there would be more money from ads.
The finance guys won.
They replaced the head of the search team (who had been there from the very start) with the guy who had been in charge of the search engine at Yahoo at the time Yahoo stopped having its own search engine.
I just go straight to wikipedia and if want further reading i look up the references on the wikipedia page ( I do pay for wikipedia , not much but something )
Yep. The numbers must always go up, at the cost of killing the golden goose. And it’s not confined to Google. It’s in social media, any kind of tech, streaming services…
I particularly notice it on google searches. So cluttered with ads and promotional listings. It used to be that the most useful answer was in the top 3 results. Now you’re lucky if it’s on page 2.
Google search is dead. The alternatives aren’t much better but I barely use it anymore. Or if I do, I have to put the word “Reddit” in the query to get a decent answer.
@Duenan Wifey had COVID a few weeks ago. She's just recovered her sense of smell and taste now. So my concern was (despite all our best efforts) I may have caught it.
Really hope that's not the case.
I just had a nice big bowl.of soup with lots of chilli.
Keep testing over the next few days, i remember being sick with it and doing tests and one day suddenly the tests came up positive even having days of symptoms and testing negative before that.
Apparently they spray the elaborate ballet costumes with vodka instead of washing or dry cleaning, and you can do it to normal clothes too. Dump some Smirnoff on your socks and see. Tada! No more laundry.
