Shikadi,

No they added more crappy pve that isn’t any better than the old pve

Oh wait

Shikadi,

Activision

Shikadi,

Guys, you missed the block chain boat, this isn’t going to save your IPO

What made you choose your instance?

Following the spirit of spreading across the Fediverse (and because my main instance is down so many times, because diverse reasons) I’m intrigued about the joining instance process, because I honestly don’t know what criteria to have in order to join another one if I ever want to do it....

Shikadi,

Started with wirebase.org because it’s local, but there was a lot of downtime. Switched to lemmy.sdf.org because they’re also local, but are also a really old group that still hosts Usenet stuff. I’ve recently learned that they have never defederated though, and so I’m considering leaving because I don’t believe in giving a platform to obvious disinformation and hate campaigns.

Shikadi,

Right wing is the one that actively and openly hurts people, so yeah I do see a difference tbh

Shikadi,

I feel like I have no other option. iPhones are better in principle, but the interface is awful. No back button alone is already a complete deal breaker for me. Samsung is bloatware, OnePlus is foreign spyware on top of Google’s spyware.

Shikadi,

Can you explain exactly how Biden is a fascist? Regardless of what you think of him I don’t see how that applies. The “both sides are the same” argument is getting very tiring, they’re both evil, but they’re absolutely not the same.

Shikadi,

I guess I see that more as an embodiment of the US government for decades, so I don’t attribute that to Biden himself being a fascist. I don’t think mass incarceration is inherently fascist, although I could be wrong on that. Everything else on that list has been US policy for my entire life. That would be the center of the Venn diagram where both side’s evil overlaps, but I don’t think it’s enough to call Biden himself a fascist in the same way you can actually call Trump a fascist because he himself embodies all of the values. I don’t think participating in a fascist system automatically makes you a fascist. Evil to ignore it? Yes, but that’s not the same thing.

Shikadi,

I know there’s a lot about his voting record that I disagree with, but I haven’t looked close enough to see if he actively supported fascist policies on the regular. If so, I’d agree

Shikadi,

So sad it didn’t take off, I would love to have an alternative to Android or iOS right now

Maybe later... how about never, you fucks?

It is endlessly frustrating that companies have universally decided that they won’t let people say “no” to stuff, ever. There are no longer options to reject stupid-ass new “features”, only postponement until next time you open the app/website/program. They’ll continue pestering you for the rest of your life. I...

Shikadi,

I’ve been pissed about this for a decade

Shikadi,

Not to be that guy, but for at least a few years recently I have had zero issues printing from arch and tons of issues printing from Windows on the same printer lol

Shikadi,

You’re reading the situation wrong. Go to those instances and read what’s there, it’s not about free speech, it’s active disinformation campaigns and propaganda. I would feel the same if it was extreme leftist propaganda. It’s not about creating an echo chamber. I respect the right to free speech, but that isn’t the same as allowing people a platform to systematically organize hate using falsified information. This is a situation where silence is complicity. Their instance continues to exist without us, their free speech continues, but by remaining federated we are giving them a platform.

Shikadi,

Why does everyone keep thinking this is about political views?

Shikadi,

Edit: I somehow failed to copy and paste

>No, I do not care to and why would I?

No, I do not care to and why would you do that?

Let’s not be like Reddit and comment essays without reading the article. That’s why. You don’t even know what you’re arguing for if you don’t look at it.

If I have to take extraordinary steps here to see it here, isn’t that on me? Isn’t the apparatus doing what it is supposed to be doing if I seek out a thing and find it?

It’s been all over my all feed personally, maybe you just don’t pay attention to where content is coming from?

going out of your way to find if there is something objectionable anywhere

See above

because other people might visit there directly instead of through federation

Therefore, due to that situation, they should not have an DNS entry so you work on their Registrar to “deplatform” them.

No, I believe the internet is the utility. Unless actual crimes are being committed, they can have their websites. The key difference here is lemmy.sdf.org is relaying the posts from its own server, and therefore participating in spreading harmful disinformation. It’s not like a telephone company that lets anyone call, it’s like a newspaper that published anyone’s articles, or a bulletin board at the library that doesn’t moderate what’s there.

Shikadi,

Then if SDF defederates from them, leave

Shikadi,

Weren’t they using the guns for target practice for fun at some point?

Shikadi,

Ah yeah that one wasn’t a very good one, it got recalled for crankshaft manufacturing defects and they got sued when the problem ended up being worse than anticipated and the money they set aside wasn’t enough. The early genesis coupes were also pretty unreliable in general. Actually, I’d say Hyundai was unreliable in general in the 2000s. They were a mixed bag, the 2009 Elantra had a rock solid drivetrain but crappy electronics for example, and the theta 2 engines were plagued with failures. But pretty much anything 2015+ is rock solid, they seem to have learned from that one.

I didn’t realize you were talking about Hyundai as of like 15 years ago, though that should have been obvious since the car in your story was 10 years old

Shikadi,

They were also pretty reliable in the 90s bleeding into the early 2000s lol

Shikadi,

Depends if the acceleration is continuous or not. Also, it used to be implemented very poorly, not sure if it still is

Shikadi,

It’s part of the fediverse, but does not speak activity pub. So it won’t ever talk to mastodon, kbin, or Lemmy
