My favorite phrase so far from Tom Rapsas' book "Wake Up Call" is "finding the sacred in sandwich-making"—taking the time to pause and appreciate the moments during our busy days that might otherwise go unnoticed. It's so easy to just go through our days on automatic pilot, but by slowing down we can find opportunities for meditation and for connection with others.

I was recently inspired by a quote from Robert Wolfe's book "Ramana Maharshi: Teachings of Self-Realization". Ramana is quoted as saying, "Only the absolute Being is real." I read this in Robert Wolfe's book "Ramana Maharshi: Teachings of Self-Realization". This is a concept I've felt for most of my life. I'm not sure how or when this became clear to me, but it's nice to see it expressed here.

This quote from Lao Tzu's "Tao Te Ching" sums up much of what I have learned so far in my spiritual journey. Realizing that our thoughts and perceptions are a consequence of all that we have experienced in life, that they are malleable and do not define us, is key to letting go of judgment and accepting others as they are. It's also key to accepting the world as it is and ceding the fallacy of control.
