In a civilized country, the city crew cutting down the giant tree in your yard would have said something to you. Knocked on the door. Asked if you needed to get out of the driveway or something. No words have been exchanged.
@GinevraCat Just weird. There were a lot of people out there! Tree cutters, 2 bucket trucks, men in SUVs, people directing traffic. But, no one said anything to us.
I guess the city tree cutters went to lunch because they left some of their stuff here. I’m afraid if I leave the house, I won’t be able to get back in my driveway.
@rustoleumlove Only gas cans and saws! It’s just weird. I can work with anything, but just tell me what you’re doing. I don’t know if I should leave to do some things or not.
it's really fascinating how flat the lies and denials coming from the US are falling. The time when this stuff worked is over. Now it just reads like someone telling you that you hate kittens. It's just a nonstarter and they look unhinged.
It would be to their advantage to think about how this makes them look, day in, day out. But they don't seem that concerned.
@InternetEh Yep. When you’re an African American, this is how you’ve felt your whole life and you can’t figure out why people here and outside can’t see it.
@paulc No, it’s free. If the tree is within some specified number of feet from the street, it’s their responsibility. On our own, we had to remove 6 trees because they were dead. We found this out when a 10 ton tree fell and hit the roof. After this one goes, we should be safe.
