My mother's family is from Sydney River and here's a Cape Breton memory: In the summer of 1985, I went to CB to spend time with a cousin from Big Pond. One of our aunts won at bingo, and bought us tickets to see Corey Hart at the Coxheath Arena. Then after the concert, we went to Jasper's in Sydney River with my cousin's friend, who is Rita MacNeil's son.
