    I'm torn on . I want to love it. It's exactly the kind of game I've been wanting in some ways. But something about it doesn't sit right and I can't put my finger on what that is.

    @AterNox I think it needs some time to cook. Feels like it's missing a lot of features/skills, additional zones, etc. It needs more depth. Right now I'm just not seeing how it would capture my attention for longer than a few days, if that.

    So my kitten, Gizmo, we've finally given free reign off the house overnight for the past two nights. I think it's going really well. He's calmed down quite a bit now that he's roaming the house fulltime. We really had to wait for our cat Sakura to be more comfortable with him. Loki had been fine with him for awhile. I will say, Gizmo is still a hyper active kitten, but it seems to have helped a lot if the past couple of days are anything to go by!

    @tehjessica they know exactly what we need. My husband had a cat that slept under the covers with him, curled up in his arm every night. It was her spot. None of our other kitties would tolerate it. After she passed, we waited a couple years, and happened to adopt a new kitten that bonded with him. She quickly found that under the covers, curled up in his arm spot and it's now her favorite thing too. Somehow, they know.

    Curious if anybody else has felt caged at home, for lack of a better term. Since the events of 2020-2021, I hate being at home. I feel like I need to always be out and about or outside on the porch or deck at bare minimum. It's very weird. I find myself pacing inside on nights that we don't have much going on. :ablobthinking:

    So, I watched the gameplay video for , and I have Opinions:

    1. This feels a lot like the WildStar Retirement Home (@belghast , you can have that blogpost title for free). It’s charming, quirky, mysterious, but also safe and cozy.

    2. Which comes along to my next point - is that enough of a hook? Animal Crossing eventually lost me, and Stardew Valley had a natural end. But Palia’s no-combat village life sim seems… dull?

    I’ll still try it. Maybe I’ll be surprised.

    @Maeka @scopique @belghast @Gazimoff Same, I played it a while back and I got heavy Landmark vibes from it, but I can sort of see Wildstar too. I'm hoping there is a LOT more than just village life, otherwise it might get kind of dull.

    One thing missing in the new "Wonka" movie with Timothée Chalamet, that I loved (I guess) in Gene Wilder's version, is that in the earlier movie, detested children. He loved chocolate but didn't think much of his customers. Without that essential darkness, is there any way that this prequel can be worth watching?

    @Tipa @OffFleekGeek @belghast I'll watch it just because the supporting cast is good. Feels more like a holiday movie than the other two. I agree though, Willy Wonka is supposed to be dark weird, this is more charming weird. Meh.

    I don’t mind if people use Threads, particularly if it provides them with a way of connecting with friends and family that they don’t get elsewhere.

    I’ll try to make sure that they know the platform drawbacks (essentially similar to Twitter but without web access and has a different CEO), so that they can put safeguards in place where possible.

    But, as I research more (mostly direct and reported experiences), the less inclined I am to support federation with it.

    @scopique @Gazimoff As far as I know, federation with Threads hasn't been implemented yet, correct? I would be curious to test and see what that actually looks like before coming to a decision. How much info they're going to pull, if this is going to cause ads, if we're going to see algorithm stuff, etc.

    @massivelyop maybe not “quietly”, but WoW’s music has always been top-tier in my mind. I can hear just the first few notes of pretty much any of their songs and get hit by a wave of nostalgia. The Sindorei song and Invincible song are both epic.

    I haven’t even looked at . No desire to, since this community already has everything I want in a social media platform. I hate Facebook and only keep it around to keep in touch with extended family, and both Facebook and Insta are chock full of advertisements and algorithms. Hell no.

    I need a heavy armor class in . Stuck between the Guardian and the Warrior. Warrior has two top-tier elite specs right now, but I like the class fantasy of the Guardian. Looking at the new weapons coming in SOTO, both dual-pistols Guardian and staff Warrior sound fun. Decisions decisions...

    Given all the new folks we see joining Mastodon in the past day or so, allow me to make a recommendation: if you’re using an iOS device, definitely check out Ivory instead of the default Mastodon app. It’s much more Twitter-like and easier to use. Worth the price, imo.

    @massivelyop I have one RL friend that enjoys MMOs (we actually met in an MMO) and who will try pretty much anything. But other friends and colleagues? Nah. MMOs are notorious timesinks and most don't have the time (with families/kids/etc) or desire to try them.

    So it's been a few years since I last played . I hated the Legendary Weapon system before, and ended up switching to a regular weapon. So now I'm playing again and landscape mobs are more difficult than they should be. Turns out, after some research - they redid the LI system a while back and it was a fairly easy process to turn all my old LI stuff into currency to buy and customize two fresh new LIs. Once again my hunter is ripping through mobs like she should be. :)

    And the new LI system is FAR and AWAY better than the old one. So much easier to understand and deal with. Mad kudos to for the change!
