So far the universe is nonexistent. So it’s not true to say it’s been really good. But to your point, they certainly haven’t “fucked everything up”, since they haven’t released anything yet.

But yes, The Suicide Squad was great, and I’m excited to see what the same director will do.

Blue Beetle is the first DCU character, but I don’t believe the movie is canon since it’s not the first DCU movie.

So bizarre. Apart from snow, Alberta also has so much wind and sun. USE IT!

Maybe Bob Loblaw should write it in his Law Blog

You don’t take your milk with an IV while you sleep? Weirdo!

Best case scenario is that you get stuck at the terminal.

Bold of you to assume that the country that still uses the Imperial system is the one that better understands fractions.

Don’t call it “Peacemaker Season 2” then. It’s “The Peacemaker Season 1”

Beer Me, Obi-Wan! (kottke.org)

When the Star Wars films aired in Chile, instead of cutting away from the movie for commercial breaks, the TV station “seamlessly” inserted ads for Cerveza Cristal beer. We’re talking Obi-Wan opening a chest to find a lightsaber for Luke and instead it reveals a ice-chest full of beer. Or the Emperor Force-reaching for a...

I find that so funny. When looking at a very violent movie, the thing they felt they needed to censor was “offensive” words.

The fact that we have to wait until America gets its act together is frustrating. They can’t even pass a simple bill like this.

Having lived in both the States and Canada, this is actually very untrue. Canada is SOOOO different. Yes, we import polarized opinions from the States, and yes they are our biggest trade partner, but we are still EXTREMELY different.

Look at how we handled the pandemic. Per person, our rate was 1/10th as bad.

Look at how we handle mass shootings. Healthcare. Diversity. Climate. Public spaces.

We may have similarities, and our crazies are influenced by their crazies, but we are very very separate countries.

The devices those users paid for? That should be illegal.

People always use the example of “you have free speech, but you can’t yell ‘fire!’ in a crowded area”.

This should be another example. You have free speech, but you can’t use it to block people from medical services.

Each coffee has 410mg of caffeine, each shot has 75mg. 1,120mg of caffeine total.

I feel jittery with 120mg. If I had that amount of caffeine even once, I would probably die.

Apple will require notarization for apps from third party app stores, and will disable updates for apps installed via third party app stores if staying outside EU (support.apple.com)

As far as I can tell this basically means that all apps must be approved by Apple to follow their “platform policies for security and privacy” even if publishing on a third party app store. They will also disable updating apps from third party app stores if you stay outside the EU for too long (even if you are a citizen of...

This is what’s somewhat surprising. If they followed most of the rules, and went a bit off on a few, no one would be as upset and it might even work. Now, I have a feeling the EU is going to be VERY clear about the rules and they aren’t going to be in Apple’s favour at all.

Just a reminder to everyone, this has cascading effects. When the sea temperature rises, sea plants have a difficult time surviving. A lot of those plants pull a lot of CO2 out of the atmosphere. Without those plants, climate change will be worsened, leading to even higher sea temperatures and more plant die-off. It’s a cascading effect that we’ve sadly set into motion, and desperately need to stop.

This is where they’re spending their money. Not on writers, but on this. No wonder movies are in the state they’re in.

If we just hear “the gospel” enough, we’ll come around. In reality, I hear street preachers, and see “Jesus loves you” stickers on street corners, and it turns me off even more.

Seriously. I print out return labels with my printer. That’s it. Why would I pay a monthly fee for something I barely use and can’t wait to do away with?

Their version of pharmacare will just be them subsidizing the oil industry more.

Ever had something spoiled for you in the opening credits?

I was watching a film yesterday (went in blind) and during the opening credits I saw something along the lines of “Special effects artist for the Creature”. I had no idea the movie was going to have a creature in it before reading that, so when it was eventually revealed later in the film I was kinda annoyed that I knew it...

The Bear. The whole series took a violent turn when the grizzly showed up.
