My “welcome to the big city” week continues. We landed two medical helicopters 🚁 on the highway this morning.

Thirty years; never landed two at once before.

@mack505 @6x6pix Interesting. Closed the highway, plus two helicopters for ‘serious, but not life threatening’.

My In-laws are firefighters and EMTs too.

And, I always wonder how decisions like that are made. Who chooses when a helicopter is needed, or not needed. Who decides when a fire goes from one alarm, to two, or seven.

Always interesting to me. Glad you’re out there doing the good work!

But, as soon as a ‘need’ arrives I’m all in. If I have a problem to solve, or a use for a tool…

has been, by far, the most satisfying thing I self host and we’re only in an apartment. We shaved 20% off our power bill, and it just makes so many things nicer day to day.

For me it’s been really durable, but it is a bit of a time sink to get rolling well. 😅🤓

Question:

Currently living in an apartment, but expect something more permanent within 12 months.

I'm mixing projects, in Pro Tools, using 'just' a mouse. I do a lot of live sound work and am finding myself losing a lot of time writing in volume automation, which really impacts my creativity.

I'm looking for inexpensive ideas to add several motorized faders to my compact setup without spending too much money, so I don't feel locked in when my situation changes.

In the late Fall, as temperatures dip towards freezing, we haul the outdoor potted plants into the family room. Some years my wife’s cherry tomato plant will crank out a few from time to time, this year it didn't do anything until a few weeks ago. Now we have the teeniest tiniest tomatoes ever.

    @analogfusion Tricky one. I’m with you 100% on the value of OWNING your media, but there is still the risk that the format you have it on will fade away. VHS, Laserdisc, DVD, HD-DVD… who’s still buying up all the Blu-ray’s?

    You’re still dependent on a player.

    I prefer to make backups 😅
