I keep hearing upvote and downvotes doesn’t matter on fediverse. How does the “Top of the day” work? Is it just comments on a post? Thanks for clarifying.
Thanks for the kind words! @Shadow has been amazing.
You guys are amazing and I’m more than happy with the subscribed donation I’ve given to your instance.
Just so you know with the transition to the new team all prior donation subscriptions have been cancelled and we’ve yet to set up a new system for donations.
We’ll let you all know when we have a new system up and running right now but it’s not high priority as we’re well funded for at least the next 6 to 9 months if we don’t have explosive growth.
I think you all need to figure out the correct Lemmy terminology and make a guide for all the lost Lemmings!
If this community adequately rips me a new one for poor English usage and Grammar in this comment and you guys figure out a Lemmy guide, we will pin it instance wide for at least 24 hours!

It’s not totally accurate, so professional oversize drivers don’t trust it and double check signage by looking on Google Street view, and still check the physical signs as they drive.
Even the one on DriveBC apparently has some errors, and so do the routes that you get with your oversize permit occasionally. At the end of the day, it’s ultimately the driver’s responsibility to make sure every overpass/tunnel/snowshed etc is tall enough for their load.
As a driver myself, I think if it’s deemed that the driver’s negligence was the main contributing factor, they should be personally liable.
The whole point is that is to send a STRONG message to the unprofessional drivers that if they don’t pickup the slack and fuck up, the rest of their life might be destroyed.
I would say so. And I would argue not knowing the height of your truck is negligence, and if that causes you to hit an overpass then well you should be held liable.
Accidentally leaving your PTO on and accidentally hitting the switch to raise the dump box, and not paying attention and not noticing your box is going up.
My theory is that since COVID, the bar for how shitty/unprofessional a driver can be and continue to be employed has gone down significantly due to a severe and worsening shortage of drivers.
I know of one driver with 11 points on their license and zero class 1 driving experience that was hired by a reputable company recently. Another one with a rather fresh 2 month suspension and bunch of points got hired by a very reputable company too. Most companies used to want clean record, shady ones would be ok with 6-9 points. Now it’s a free for all.
They are supposed to. But I’ve heard from drivers in the dump truck industry that the alarms are often disabled by drivers because “they are annoying”.
My tractor I can’t dump the airbags if I’m going over 10km/h, can’t release the 5th wheel slider if trailer parking brakes are released, and tons of other safety features.
Up/Down votes doesn't matter?
