Go to the other thread in this community titled “anyone run across a post that crashes sync?” and then just scroll down into the comments, and your client should crash.

It’s not lemmy.world, there’s a bad post that is crashing sync for users across instances. It’s a sync bug.

It was reported here midwest.social/post/9381826 but the comments in that will now crash sync too.

Yes, just look at eth0. You might like the iptraf tool too.

Oral alternatives to Revolution+

I have a cat that absolutely hates topical medicine. I use Revolution+ because it’s an all in one and was what the vet recommended when I got my cats but one of my cats runs when he sees the box, fights when I am putting it on him, and hides for a few hours after he gets treated. My other cat doesn’t really like getting it...

Lemmy only subscribes to remote communities once a user has subscribed to it. They’re a smaller instance so their users may not have subscribed to such a wide variety of communities. This could give you a much smaller everything feed.

I also previously seeded our instance with github.com/Fmstrat/lcs to help ensure we get as much as possible.

Yes, I don’t know which post it is but I’ve been crashing all morning.

I’ve opened an issue, hopefully ljdawson will see it quicker there.

I use one every night. It keeps my phone in a predictable spot, and it always charges fully overnight anyways. It’s also less wear and tear on the port.

I feel like SciFi has shifted to tv more for the longer and more complex storytelling.

You’re also paying for your heater to heat that water. If you don’t use as much hot water, your electricity/gas bill should be slightly lower.

Wax paper, or just paper, or tin foil.

Like Cadbury creme eggs used to just be wrapped in foil, now they’re plastic. <- Apparently this is only in Canada since 2015. TIL.

Shadow,

TIL it’s only Canada that switched

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadbury_Creme_Egg

As of 2015, the packaging in Canada has been changed to a 34 g (1.2 oz), purple, red and yellow soft plastic shell.

Apparently it’s a Canada only thing, started in 2015.

That stuff would all be considered PII so it would have major GDPR implications. I also don’t know if any of that would even be valuable though, except to 3 letter agencies.

Yes. To my understanding gdpr doesn’t care who you are, if you have users and you track their data then you’re covered under it.

Pretty much every cat I’ve owned has done this. Cats are weird.

Shadow,

You should consider wet food instead, it’s much better for cats.

For the gulpers you can get bowls that are complicated to slow them down.

Cats don’t really drink enough water and are frequently bordering on a state of dehydration. Pretty much everywhere will recommend wet over dry.

I’ve been eying waxed jackets for a while, do you have any brand recommendations?

Shadow,

It’s held in with two fairly strong magnets, I don’t think it falls off on its own. If a print falls over and catches on the extruder it could push the front off. I’ve had it happen for that reason.

Personally… I’d just have left it off if I was them. I can’t imagine a little plastic shield helps hot end temps

So… Can you turn right on a red there? I don’t know the state laws, but I’d interpret that sign to mean you’re fine to advance after stopping.

Before everyone gets their pitchforks out - Person from the image posted on Hacker News, CEO replied and said this charge shouldn’t have happened and they wouldn’t be charging the client anything.

Yeah but then you have a customer calling and screaming at you “We just launched our big sale of the year and our site has been down for an hour!!!”.

If you let them burst and bill them, you end up with angry clients. If you don’t, you end up with angry clients. Letting them burst and being forgiving with the bill is the better approach IMHO.
