Philly PD expanded their sweep perimeter to block Kensington and Clearfield & some surrounding streets; camp residents were told they couldn’t return.

Members of a missionary group on site were heard off-camera praising the sweep - “it’s the cleanest I’ve ever seen it”

The Philly Police perimeter at Kensington & Allegheny has hardened from tape into metal barricades

The view from Kensington & Allegheny of the Philly Police anti-homeless camp sweep operation as of 9:35 a.m - some metal barricades placed on the sidewalk appear to have been placed to obstruct people from continuing to sleep where they have been sleeping.

All business on this stretch of Kensington look shuttered - all access closed for likely 6 hours or more - some residents were let in after officers inspected their ID (lack of access to ID and mailing address is a well-known issue for those experiencing homelessness)

In addition to the large group of PPD occupying several blocks of Kensington Ave, groups of officers and vehicles are stationed throughout the surrounding area - the dept is likely incurring significant overtime expenses today:

The police perimeter on Kensington Ave. in Philadelphia has expanded southwest and currently ends at intersection of Kensington & F St - some confusion as civilian vehicles drive through behind police vehicles getting waved under the tape. Cops expected to expand perimeter soon:

Outside of the blocked-off police control zone on Kensington Ave between Allegheny and F for the anti-encampment sweep, a variety of Philly Police and city employees/contractors are working on nearby streets:

Fourteen Denver students were arrested on Tuesday during a pro-Palestine sit-in at an aerospace and engineering sciences building on the Auraria Campus, which manufactures weapons for Lockheed Martin on-site.

The sit-in came after students had a meeting with Dr. Angie Paccione, executive director of the Colorado Department of Higher Education. Displeased with the meeting, students decided to conduct the sit-in.

Displaced Palestinians Thank American Students for Solidarity

“We cherish what they did for the sake of our Palestinian people,” said Tafkir Hamad speaking of the students in the U.S.

Messages such as “Thank you students [at] Columbia,” “Thank you American universities,” and “Thank you students in solidarity with Gaza your message has reached” were sprawled across the facade and walls of tents where Palestinians forcibly pushed into southern Gaza are currently living.
