@acm_redfox Who knows exactly. This admin seems very opaque when it comes to communicating to the public what they're planning to do, and the City budget is complex enough that it's hard to tell sometimes what is and is not getting funding.

@jackbrewster @cat_news We have one that comes into the bedroom, confirms we are both in bed, and then goes into the kitchen and howls like someone is killing him. It's even weirder because we feed the cats from an auto-feeder that is not in the kitchen, so it's not like he's bitching that he's hungry.

@aronow Today I must finish a book I checked out from the library because it's due tomorrow. Good news - I only have 100 pages left. I’m also packing for our SCUBA trip to Roatan, Honduras in a week. We don't normally pack this early, but last year one of our dive bags got delayed, so we were without some gear the first couple days. This is a new pack with an extra carry on with the most critical gear we need to dive, and I need time to test the weight of all the bags.

@APBBlue we call Amazon the store of last resort. But it’s still an option when there really are no others. I’ve been updating my back catalog of Blu-ray’s to 4K. For some of the older stuff Amazon is the only choice. And I’ve made peace with that.

@skinnylatte I don’t remember the first time I heard about this, but I was like, “wait, other people see pictures in their head?!?!?” It explains why I sometimes have a hard time with fiction books. I can’t see what they’re describing. I do better if I read a book after watching the movie or TV show. I wish I could buy an illustrations companion book for the stuff I read.

@aronow I work for a municipality. They advertise some remote/hybrid roles, but policy requires all employees live in the municipality.

Hmm.. I kinda super dislike the fact I'm paying for a TV subscription but I am only able to use their "official" receiver or watch via their site

I understand that they can't simply share the URL/file and key but arrggh..

The only way to watch TV via my own media service is illegally, it's almost as if they try to force me :blobpirate:

@stux you can always enter cablecard hell where what you can actually decode is left to the whim of some random engineer. In theory Verizon and Comcast will still let you get anything but premiums with a cablecard and something like a Silicondust HDHR Prime. But it’s a pain in the ass.
