Another rainy weekend. It's a good day to stay in with horror movies. I was invited to watch an early screener of Pandemonium. I gave it a 7 out of 10 stars on IMDB Available May 27 in the US, Canada, UK and Ireland. On the same day, Pandemonium will be available on major VOD platforms, including Apple TV and Prime Video. French with English subtitles. My mini review is posted at https://wellwortharead.blogspot.com/2024/05/movie-review-pandemonium.html @horror @horrorfilm

I watched Abigail last night and I feel like this has been done before. The titles escape me at the moment but I have seen more than one movie where kidnappers end up finding out that it's not really a child they are holding for ransom. @horror

@biancotitanio @horror Everyone on my facebook friends list is saying how amazing it was so they made me want to watch it. I agree with the reviews you read. I should have read them first lol.

@KentuckyConjurer @horror yes! I was thinking it might have been like an old episode of Tales From The Darkside or Tales From The Crypt but I think you are right that it was an anthology movie not a tv series

Well_Worth_A_Read,
@Well_Worth_A_Read@horrorhub.club avatar

@KentuckyConjurer I remember that one, it was based off the original episode in the 60s I think with Billy Mummy.

This highly anticipated sequel to Until Summer Comes Around takes place ten years after the most momentous summer of Rocky's life.
Things have settled down in Old Orchard Beach in the years since the murders. The tourists are back as usual and Rocky lives a mostly quiet life, dealing as best he can with the knowledge that monsters are real, and that the first and only girl he ever loved was one of them. This is kinda cool and kinda creepy.

  1. Stare at the red dot on the girl’s nose for 30 seconds
  2. Turn your eyes towards the wall/ceiling or somewhere else on a plain surface
  3. Keep blinking your eyes quickly.

I started watching this one last night but dozed off halfway through. Not because I was bored but because I'm at that age where I shouldn't start a movie past 9pm. I'll finish it tonight. It gave off "Talk To Me" vibes with bad things that happen when people contact the dead. @horror

Would you let a stranger in your house if they said they used to live there and wanted permission to take a quick look inside? Eve did. She shouldn't have answered the door. 📽️ INFESTED (aka VERMINES) was great, creepy-crawly fun. An entertaining movie that's... um... infested with exactly what you expect, and filled with many moments that make you cringe, shudder, or jump.

Not recommended for those with arachnophobia, but heartily recommended for weirdos like me that are excited to be horrified/terrified 😂

"The year is nineteen seventy one. Lost deep in the woods of West Virginia, two childhood friends discover a book that dismantles and unravels everything they once considered reality"
If you are offended by strong/crude language this is not a book for you.
Otherwise, it's a funny, wistful, raunchy, entertaining read with elements of horror and just a touch of gore. My review of Three Sixes and a Forked Tongue is posted at https://wellwortharead.blogspot.com/2024/04/three-sixes-and-forked-tongue-or-cold.html @horrorbooks @horror

Horror author Ray Garton has passed away. The last thing Ray Garton posted was pain sucks. The first thing I saw when I turned on the computer today was the email update from the go fund me. I clicked it hoping to see that Ray had been moved to a hospital better equipped to treat his cancer. Instead I'm crying in my coffee and hugging my books. Rest in Peace Ray. No more pain. @horror

The newest issue of my favorite horror magazine Nightmare Abbey is out now. The article on the history of horror comics was enlightening and fun, whether you enjoyed them as a kid or are too young to have lived in those glorious days of perusing through gruesome tales and gory illustrations. As always the short horror stories are the star. The illustrations are awesome too. @horror My review is posted at https://wellwortharead.blogspot.com/2024/04/nightmare-abbey-5-edited-by-tom-english.html

I love Mastodon but I do wish there were more active peeps here. Other sites seem so transactional. People want to friend me so they can tag me to advertise their own sites, or they want to know how I got ARCs and I tell them and then never hear from them again, Or they just want to complain about other book reviewers or publishers. Anyway if you see this it's probably because you are an awesome person! We need more awesome people here. @horror

@stina_marie @horror I'm not on BlueSky and I deleted my twitter. All I see on Threads are complaints and whining so I don't use it. People on Instagram are so full of "follow trains" all they care about are followers and not genuine conversation. I hate when people follow just to unfollow. I am too old to TIK and I refuse to Tok LOL If I made reels or watched reels all day I'd never have time to read or watch horror.
