Hey all. Since the Internet has just been boiled down to the main big social media sites, it feels like the magic is gone. Whens the last time someone said to you "hey check out this cool website"? It's always the same: TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, FB, Reddit, Discord. Forums are basically dead. Chat rooms are dead. Message...
I know it's possible to follow communities on lemmy from a mastodon account, but I was wondering if it's possible to do the reverse, and subscribe to a mastodon user? I wanted to try and get a combined feed from both platforms - I prefer lemmy, and given it works one way I was hoping it might work the other?
Borderlands 2, Skyrim, GTA San Andreas, Doom Eternal, the rebooted tomb raiders, Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption 2, Nier Automata, Overwatch, Divinity Original Sin 2, Demons Souls remake, Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remakes,
Some purely nostalgia ones: Crash Bandicoot 2 and 3, Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament, Resident Evil 3, Urban Chaos, Burnout Takedown, Zelda A Link to the Past, GTA2 and 3, Spiderman (PS1), Tomb Raider 2, 3, and Revelations, Tony Hawks Pro skater 2 and 3.
It's the weekend for me, and I'd just love some suggestions. Movies? TV shows? Coffee? Holiday destinations? Software? Apps? Books? Something new to make for dinner? Websites?...
It's the size of the site. Reddit has too many users and has lost what once made it special. Everyone wants this place to grow to astronomical numbers, but I guarantee it will start declining once that happens. Smaller, more tightknit communities are much better imo.
it's very much borrowed from one of the reddit subs i frequent(ed) often, but the idea is to share what we're playing weekly and hopefully create discussions around those games (or simply have a sort of "check-in").
I've set myself a challenge to play one game for 6 months. I was jumping around games a lot and barely playing anything properly. I remember when I was younger I'd get a game for my birthday and Christmas which were 6 months apart, so I basically played one game only for half a year. Now it's too easy to just buy and download games and switch between them.
So at the moment I'm playing ESO until October. It's far from the best game ever, but the amount of content is insane. And I love Elder Scrolls.

Thanks for accepting my sign up! Really excited for this place. I had an account on mastodon but I much prefer this reddit-style type of site to a twitter clone. Looking forward to having a good dig around this site.
I have a feeling this is kind of the way the fediverse will go. Click something that interests you, and it'll show every post across all instances / sites. Hopefully.
consider starting to post, if you where a lurker or commenter on reddit
I never post much on reddit, I go there for entertainment etc....
Where's the feel of the old Internet gone, and what sites do you use?

Can I subscribe to mastodon users?
