Can we choose a default sort option per subscription? Some communities are large and I want to view by hot. For other communities, I would like to view by new. If this setting could be done on a per community basis on the ones I am subscribed to, it would be great.
The landed gentry are only in charge until the king comes to town and chops off a few heads. What is this about having to copy and paste a link to find subscriptions from other instances? I literally just pull up the community browser and set it to "all" and then search.
Basically just the bible says you are supposed to be good, and Jesus says you are supposed to be good. It is kind of a big loophole though, if you really aren't interested in being good.
I would love to eventually see ad blocking in this app, because it's incredibly painful to try to look at articles from a lot of mainstream sites. But I imagine that might be a difficult ask, so in the meantime, an option to just have links automatically open in my external browser would be nice.
I’m just curious for the new or existing people? Lemmy.ml has taken a hard turn to the right since the reddit exodus. There’s been a lot of pro-imperialist propaganda being posted on world news, and a lot less diversity of opinion. It feels more neoliberal and neo-con to me....
When I was first becoming an adult (in the USA), I got into politics from talk radio. I became staunchly libertarian, perhaps a bit conservative learning. Over the years, as I started to gain more life experience, started to actually think about certain issues some more, hear more opposing viewpoints, and actually see how stuff played out over time, I slowly began turning more liberal. These days, I would say that I am left of center and mostly align with the Democratic party for voting purposes.
The only protest at this point should be the mods leaving their communities unmoderated and moving over to the fediverse. Nothing else is going to be able to accomplish anything.
I thought my deleted comments were getting restored by reddit, but it just turns out that you can't delete comments from private subreddits. So I initially deleted everything during the 2 day blackout, then a few days later when things started opening up again, I saw a ton of comments still on my account, so I just assumed reddit had been restoring them.
I'm always skeptical of the idea that people can't handle more than one news story at a time.
So NBC wants to point out that there wasn't much coverage of this issue? Maybe NBC should take some responsibility for not pushing the story harder in the first place?
Anyone else more excited for Super Mario Bros Wonder then the Super Mario RPG remake? I didn't really think it needed a remake. You can play it everywhere. Pretty sure it's on Nintendo Online and then there is the SNES classic too. The graphical style in which high def models are turned into sprites are just so mid-90's....
I have played Mario RPG a few times in my life, including once within the past couple of years. The remake looks like a straight remaster with updated graphics, so I don't really have any desire to play it again, especially if it means paying $60 or whatever it will cost. But I think this game isn't really aimed at me. There are a lot of people who never played the original, including lots of young kids who weren't around when it came out. I think that is the main audience for this remake. And for them, I think this will be an exciting release, because the game is still awesome.
I've mostly been grinding world tour, but starting to play ranked. I don't really have a lot of fighting game experience, but I've managed to work my way up to silver so far, and still climbing.
So far I've been using Luke with modern controls. Haven't learned any combos yet, mostly just trying to focus on fundamentals. It's kind of funny when I beat people who have clearly put some effort into learning some big combo, but they don't know how to block, or just let me keep anti-airing them. Once I get to gold, I'm planning to start trying new characters and figure out who I want to main.
I wasn't a huge fan of the NSMB series, and it always felt like they were just playing it safe. This one seems to have a similar look, but it appears they are trying some really original ideas with it.
With the recent Reddit shit show forcing users to move to Lemmy or similars thus old Internet making a comeback and now seeing this in my YT feed? This seems surreal!
With CEO 2023 this upcoming weekend, I thought it would be fun to discuss it. Are you going to watch it? why or why not ? What game are you most excited to watch? What player do you think is going to win what game and why?...
I'm just starting to get into Street Fighter, so I'm looking forward to seeing the street fighter 6 tournament and starting to learn who the major players are. I might check out the smash tournaments too, because I was really into smash for a while, but I haven't been following it for the past two years or so.
I use modern because I play mostly casually. It's not that the command inputs are difficult or anything, but I use a gamepad and it feels really awkward to have to use shoulder buttons for my normals.
I've been learning Japanese for a few years now, my reading is pretty good but my listening is terrible. I've been actively trying to watch more Japanese content but I'm not a huge fan of anime. So I've been getting into Japanese dramas. I've found some good ones from just randomly browsing Japanese netflix but I've found it...
I really enjoyed Midnight Diner 深夜食堂. It's pretty simple and every episode tells a story with new characters. For something a bit more exciting, I enjoyed Alice in Borderland.
My cousin had one, but due to the battery drain, could only play it plugged into the wall. He only had one or two games for it, and we eventually would play with the ac adapter more than the game gear itself. It was a "universal" ac adaptor that had a lot of different plugs on it, and we would touch stuff together to make sparks fly. In retrospect this was all probably incredibly dangerous, but we were just dumb kids.
Feature Request : allow sort options per subscription
