Sux to be Gen X. The old man knew he hit the sweet spot. Born too young to fight in WWII, too old for Vietnam. Lived in the golden age of beef and lamb, before the wool price fell in the late 1960s, Britain joined the EEC in the 1970s and fucked our guaranteed minimum income for farmers. Now, as Bernard Hickey nags on about, we're an economy based on housing with bits tacked on. It's no way to run an economy, but no-one wants to call Jenga on this Ponzi scheme.
