Do you set aside a time each day to write? Do you write five pages stream of consciousness then trim it down into something that makes sense? Are you a planner? Do you write in a notebook? Do you write once, edit once? write twice, edit once? Write once, edit thrice?...
Warcraft 3 probably. I played the demo at a friend's house and then saved up my pocket money to buy it. I would have been about 10 or 12 at the time. Absolutely loved the campaigns even though I sucked at them.
I'm looking for PC games that I can play while listening to podcasts- games that don't have engaging cut scenes or important dialogue, games that honestly don't require a lot of skill or thought....
Perhaps I've misunderstood how Lemmy works, but from what I can tell Lemmy is resulting in fragmentation between communities. If I've got this wrong, or browsing Lemmy wrong, please correct me!...

Archaeologists in Bavaria made a rare find last week: during excavations in the Swabian town of Nördlingen, experts discovered a bronze sword that is more than 3,000 years old, the State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments announced Wednesday. This is so well preserved, "that it almost still shines"....
I don't know if this is the right community for this, so I am sorry if it shouldn't go here. I am currently playing through a link to the past for the first time and have noticed a steep increase in difficulty once I unlocked the dark world. The dark palace was okay but I am honestly kinda stuck at the swamp palace. I would love...
I feel like the COO of Embracer should focus on operating their studios instead of mismanaging them to the point where they're shutting them down and restructuring.
Cyberpunk wasn't even that bad to be honest, except on last gen consoles and the reviews said as much. (When the reviews came out the day before release day. Nice embargo from CDprojekt.)
I played on PC day one and never had any gamebreaking bugs, just a few hilarious NPC clipping incidents.
For me it was advice from Dan Harmon: "Don't try to prove you're a good writer, you'll never write anything. Try to prove you're a bad writer and you'll write everything." Not perfect advice but it really does help me write when I'm being overly critical of my ideas.
I'm very new to mtg and have only been playing arena a little, but I've ordered some physical decks. I was wondering if there were some famous cards that a beginner should know? For any reason really, gameplay, lore, etc....
Personally I am loving the format of the current switch games, and Nintendo has signaled that they intend to keep making games in this style though not necessarily a sequel....
Going the immersive sim direction with BotW was the best decision they made and the added flexibility of the new powers in TotK really showed how much they can push it.
I think if they add more interesting NPCs and social options it would bring it even further along, as the NPCs are currently the weakest point of the game.
I built my own computer, been using PCs since I was two years old, I know how to use CLIs and I already run Plex. But Sonarr was such a fucking hassle to set it up that I got halfway through the set up and gave up.
Got this Lego set recently on the advice of a youtuber I quite enjoy (R.R. Slugger). Really enjoyable set in a colorway that you don't ordinarily see, fairly good value too. I added a couple of improvements here and there as well.
Writing can take many forms now a days. Some prefer pen and paper and others prefer word processors. I am curious what !writing uses for their own writing....

Which is the first PC game that blew your mind?
For me it was definitely DOOM 2! Miles ahead of anything else I had played before.

We need an international coding subreddit for obvious reasons. I don't want to make it in my Lemmy instance because it's an Italian-only one.
