Productivity increases with the level of customization you are making in the tools you are using most often.

The downside is that the more used to these customizations you get, the more lost you'll feel when
using a system that is not configured as yours.

Simple example: create a new binding in #Vim or #Emacs. This is not only very common but

I am a bit confused by the advice on training I'm reading about.
On one side, there are studies saying to avoid training to failure. (this applies to non-hypertrophy training).
On the other hand, others say that endurance training requires sets to failure.

Then I take a step back and realize, pretty much everything is inside

What am I doing wrong in my attempt to configure the #Emacs font?

I have the following lines in my init.el:

(set-face-attribute 'default nil :family "Input Mono Compressed" :height 150)  
(set-frame-font "Input Mono Compressed-15" nil t)  

If I execute them, I get what I want.
But when part of the init.el they seem to get reset.
If I include them towards the top of the init.el,
I can notice the larger font and then it "disappears".

Please send #Emacs doctors :-D.

In other news, #Emacs Newsticker seems to forget the status of some of the feeds between restarts.

It might not be its issue. I haven't seen this with RSS reader apps though.

After two days of excitement, I'm entering the trough of disappointment with RSS in #Emacs.

After only one day of fun, this elfeed issues makes it completely

Basically the #Emacs elfeed db gets corrupted after every usage.

How unfortunate as I really liked it.

After losing some edits of #orgmode files in between #Beorg and #Emacs, tonight I have added a save-on-focus-lost to Emacs:

(add-hook 'focus-out-hook ‘org-save-all-org-buffers)

The simplicity to accomplish this result is incredible. Similar things can be accomplished in #vim too.

Modern editors have to expose configuration flags for such features. Which are indeed easier to use if present, but less configurable and less composable.

Does anyone have any ideas or hypothesis why Shortcuts show up only sometimes in the iPhone searches?

There are times when Shortcuts show up. There are times when they do not. It is completely random. Not showing up is the more frequent result though.

It’s been about 3 weeks since I’ve took my tasks from Workflowy to Org in #Emacs.

It took me quite a bit of tweaking to get it as simple as I like it.
This is not my first experience with #orgmode and the learning curve is pretty steep.

For my usage the results are pretty good so far. The iPhone app #Beorg is a must have to make it work.

@siracusa sorry for bothering you with this question.

In SwitchGlass, “Show All Windows - Activate an app and bring all its window to the front.” Is this action supposed to also restore minimized or hidden windows? Or does it apply only to non-minimized, non-hidden? (The behavior I’m observing is the latter which is a bit confusing for me when thinking of “all”).

Isn’t this behavior in #Emacs a bit strange: to use jump to matching parentheses, bracket, brace:

1. cursor must be on the opening character
2. cursor must be after the ending character

Why after and not on the last character?
