In March of 1997 WIRED Magazine published their cover story on how browsers might soon disappear as everyone would prefer stuff pushed to them instead of discovered via following links.
It was widely panned and browsers are still very much alive today but I have to say when I look at Instagram and TikTok, those are all-Push content apps and maybe WIRED got it a little bit correct?
The more I look for Space Gremlin, the more confused I am. The forum doesn't seem to work anymore either.
I have sent an email to see if I hear back.
Without the Mac App Store version, Space Gremlin only works in demo mode; that's quite unhelpful.
@siracusa sorry for pinging you, do you happen to know anything about what Space Gremlinโs presence in the App Store? (I believe I learned about the app from you and thus deduced you are the only Space Gremlin user I know)
The value of #Emacs is not in the packages that are available (Gnus, org-mode, Magit, etc.). It is the fact that these packages live in the same application, manipulate text the same way, and can interact with each other to do exactly what you want them to do.
@galdor What is amazing to me is how extensible both #Emacs and #Vim are while using completely differently approaches.
And how little modern editors have learned from them. I don't want to poopoo on modern editors as some are really good and cool. But very few have been build on this fundamental philosophy of extensibility.
April 4. Another day in Commissioner Gordonโs old-new-life in the decrepit and corrupt Gotham City. But that will change, there is a hope, a light at the end of the tunnel. And it has bat wings.
Whatโs neat about #JetBrains#Fleet is the polyglot nature of it. I'm writing a #rustlang library that I later consume in a #dotnet#csharp solution, all without switching context.
I can also run my .NET solution and run my #rustlang tests. That's a nice workflow.
@khalidabuhakmeh How long have you been using #Fleet? About 1year ago, it was a nice editor, but missed tons of features that its elder @Jetbrains' brothers had for long. (Yes, I do know, Fleet is not the same as the rest)
@siracusa sorry for bothering you with this question.
In SwitchGlass, โShow All Windows - Activate an app and bring all its window to the front.โ Is this action supposed to also restore minimized or hidden windows? Or does it apply only to non-minimized, non-hidden? (The behavior Iโm observing is the latter which is a bit confusing for me when thinking of โallโ).
#macOS#keyboard layout pro tip: Having two hyper keys makes a ton of difference. And I can't remember the last time I needed an actual Caps Lock key or the actual right Alt/Option key.
@cjk How does Bartender solve the behind the Nudge problem? If Iโm not mistaken when expanding, some of the icons will still get lost behind the Nudge, arenโt they?
@cjk I am not sure I see what the screenshot points to. On my machine, when expanding Bartender, if thereโs enough icons in the bar they will get lost behind the notch. Bartender doesnโt re-arrange them beyond the Notch or present them in a different way.
Is there a specific configuration you are using? Thank you
