I'm thinking of getting into traveling and joining tour groups. I heard this is the new hip way of meeting people.

Plus, I'm jealous of my mom, who frequently travels.

In this economy?! :leafeonmoney: You'd probably end up finding a sugar mommy on those trips.

Depends on how you'd view it. :neocat_wink_blep:

For example, a friend used to go join diving groups that flew all over the world.

His comment was that a few of these groups had really rich 30s-40s slim muscular ladies who were ahem... thirsty.

The announcement about the 800 character limit also reminds me...

When looking up the places in Akihabara, there's a maid cafe in Akihabara Denpan Kaikan called

アキバなら異世界メイドがお給仕したって問題ないよねっ!

(In Akiba, there is no problem even if a maid from another world serves you!)

Only spotted it on Google Maps after I came back from Japan though :frierendisappointed1:

Honestly tho, from the reviews:

  • They're really farming 5 star reviews on Google, it's pretty obvious, especially if you switch to 'sort by lowest'
  • Looks like they're highly focused on attracting foreign tourists especially EN/CN speaking ones
  • The food looks really really cheap
  • People who didn't order food got really bad service

I prefer maid cafes where the focus is the concert, so there'd be a stage and the maidos sing and dance. If the crowd goes wild, it's a good maid cafe trip.

Some people like the theme cafes where the staff dress and speak appropriately. E.g. tsundere cafe or imouto cafe.

I read the available part of the Hyakkiyako story in Blue Archive, it wasn't bad. But...

Shuro showed up for one brief scene at the end, and I hope when she starts really appearing, the translators try harder to reproduce her bizarre way of speaking in Japanese.

Basically, she uses the word 手前 on any and every occasion possible. As a first person pronoun, as a second person pronoun, in its more literal meanings, so forth.

(Possibly mild spoilers in the image, if you can read Japanese and haven't read the Hyakkiyako story pt. 2)

anianimalsmoe,
@anianimalsmoe@sakurajima.moe avatar

@lethekazhorai Hrmm... She does use 手前さん, 手前様 and 手前ら etc for 2nd person and 手前 for herself, at least as far as I can read from a wiki https://dic.pixiv.net/a/%E7%AE%AD%E5%90%B9%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A5%E3%83%AD

Using 'we' does lose some of that context...

Actually, 手前 is correct in usage for both 1st and 2nd person, see wikitionary: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E6%89%8B%E5%89%8D

@lethekazhorai
I'd go with wikitionary's explanation and make it more 'samurai-speech-ish'.

手前: The one who stands before you
手前さん: One before me
手前様: (Honored?) one before me
手前ら: Those before me

I won a bit of money today from our bi-weekly games at work with cash prizes.

I used it to buy some alcohol for some Friday night unwinding, and now I'm buzzed. I think three bottles might have been too much.

So what is the point of being on the :deadbird: site if like count is everything to influencers.:bunhdthink:

https://www.macrumors.com/2024/05/23/x-twitter-to-make-likes-private/

#x

18+ anianimalsmoe,
@anianimalsmoe@sakurajima.moe avatar

@chikorita157 Looking at the actual page, the likes are still visible to the owner, and obviously, the algorithm will still use likes for calculations. So it won't affect companies who are farming likes coz they can still see the data.

I actually think that X will build some kind of panel for influenzas to share their aggregated like counts to potential sponsors.

Lots of discourse around Wuthering Waves frames the game as ‘Genshin killer(?), which is such a capitalist way of thinking about games. “Because they’re similar they must be out to destroy the other.”

Or maybe they're both just very good games. You can like both and want both to succeed. :AquaShrug:

So I'm attempting to grow negi. You know that long veggie that :mmiku_waving: Hatsune Miku in Ievan Polka, Farfetch'd, and Sirfetch'd carry?

I've heard it called a lot of names.

What do you call negi in your region? :neocat_confused:

anianimalsmoe,
@anianimalsmoe@sakurajima.moe avatar

@yon @shinydan
The interesting thing about negi is that 'Welsh' in the name is meant to mean 'foreign', because it originates from China 🤯 .

Unsurprisingly, it's used a lot in Asian cuisine.
